Well, it is about ratings and commercial sponsorship, and there are huge audiences on both ideological sides that are drawn to the channels that feed into their pre-existing beliefs.

People don't want to sit down and hear civilized conversions from educated, thoughtful people about important, complex issues without easy answers. So, those stations give the people what they want. Obnoxious ideologues that spout platitudes about caricatured targets. I.e., bull____.

I totally agree with that. That's why I rarely watch either one of those stations anymore. I watch local news and that's about it.

My mom flew in today and had a funny story from the Atlanta airport.

There were three elderly ladies ahead of her in line who had to go through the pat-down search.

As the ladies were getting searched, all three starting OOOing and AHHHing and saying "wait, right there, that's the spot...wait, go back."

My mom said everyone in line was ROFL. Good to hear some people have a sense of humor in regards to a sensitive subject.

:lol

And no, the Bill of Rights does not apply to industries. But, if the airports have invited in a government agency, that agency, deriving it's authority from those who are subject to the limitations of the Bill of Rights, should not get a free pass simply because it's working on private property, at the behest of a private industry.

As for cops and breathalyzers, I think that would fall under the rubric of probable cause.

That's actually good strategy in a way. It might make them back off just a bit and not get too frisky by groping you more than they have to.

etc. etc. I guess the Supreme Court Justices themselves are also stupid?

If stupid means willfully irrational, and potentially motivated by malicious intent, then yes. If stupid means unintelligent, hence having an excuse for their subversive and destructive behavior, then no.
