No thanks to the TSA. The few attempts that were made (shoe bomber, underwear bomber) were thwarted due to alert passengers and ineffective explosive devices, nothing to do with the TSA.

Actually at the time those were tried we TSA didn't check those areas. So basically you can say they didn't do their job, however now they have better method to find these and people are pissed. So you want shoe bombers and underwear bombers or scanners?

Also how can you determine TSA has not made a difference? Prove to me that people have not tried simply because of the TSA.

The Fiqh Council of North America, an association of Muslims who interpret Islamic law, previously warned Muslims against being screened by the X-ray machines that reveal a graphically nude image.

That, the council said, is "against the teachings of Islam, natural law and all religions and cultures that stand for decency and modesty. … It is a violation of clear Islamic teachings that men or women be seen naked by other men and women.

"The Quran has commanded the believers, both men and women, to cover their private parts. Human beings are urged to be modest in their dress. See Holy Quran, 7:26-27; 24:300-31; 33:59."

If they're concerned about their women, all they need is a female TSA agent to do the pat down. That should solve any and all problems.

Didn't the panty bomber just occur last Christmas? I know by then we were having to remove our shoes, walk through metal detectors, and some of us got lucky enough to go the the explosive blowing air puff thingy.

Had the TSA been performing profiling, this guy would have certainly been on a list for additional screening, including that blowing air thing that would have hopefully picked up traces of explosives. His background and travel plans had numerous red flags.

But the US has become too politically correct to implement that profiling, unfortunately to our own peril. So ALL of us are subjected to these searches.

Since these full body scans only detect under the clothing, and not internally, all some whacko terrorist needs to do is shove a stick of dynamite up his wazoo and make it through the full body scan in order to commit his crime. Then what, the TSA will be asking ALL us to submit to full body cavity searches in public next? Because we don't want to offend anyone? Ridiculous.

You can't prove a negative.

That, uh, is what the Supreme Court does, when it's not, like, doing its job. When it performs its job correctly, what it does is apply the Constitution. They're the final arbiter of enforcement. Their sole function is to ensure that the Constitution is followed. How can it be followed when it's meaning is constantly changing? You can't obey a law that you don't understand. Y'know?

Not until someone blows something up in a mall. Then they'll put them in malls. Then, when someone blows up a stadium, they'll put them in stadiums. Obviously that's the way to prevent something that's already happened.
