Re: MarfMaster's Mix

Hey Dane I've always meant to ask you this, do you really pose your figures without the stands or do you remove them for the pictures? The Iron Man figures aren't the most sturdy by themselves.

Re: MarfMaster's Mix

thor is great

Thanks lord, always room for more awesome marvel figures in my collection :rock

Well, good call in putting them on. They look great. :exactly:

Thanks Mag :duff

When I first started collecting I only used stands on a few figures that absolutely needed them because they couldn't hold any sort of stance on their own (HT OC Batman and Joker). A few months ago I broke down and decided to use stands on all of my custom figures with custom paint jobs, because even though I've yet to have an accident, the money that goes into the figures demands the extra precaution :lol

My main reason for not using them before was because I felt they sort of killed the realism of the figures, but right now I have all of my custom figures, HT OC Batman and HT Thor (both have really weak ankles) on blank, standard TT crotch stands and they're really not bothering me. :rock My IM Mk IV and WM actually have really solid stances the way they're posed!

Re: MarfMaster's Mix

Finally got my hands on a Hurrican Vader thanks to my pal Aaron (Teddy Daniels). I was on the fence for a while because I was pretty happy with my Medicom version. So glad nobody snatched it up while I was twiddling my thumbs, because THIS is Vader. :vader

Great figure man! congrats!
Its a beauty:drool
Hands down, the best 1/6 vader out there IMO.

Thanks lambo! It really is an amazing piece, nothing currently out there compares imo. It has the most "presence" of any 1/6 figure I have ever seen. :hi5:

Re: MarfMaster's Mix

Grats on Vader man. That indeed definitely has a presence. I specially love the eyes, much like the screen counterpart where it looks almost see through. The scale is perfect also unlike the too tall SS. That's a beauty man. :horror

Thanks Remy :) I'm really happy with the proportions on this guy. I'm anxious to see the new Vader that SS is cooking up, but it will have to be pretty amazing to make me bite now.

Re: MarfMaster's Mix

I doubt if it will top this one though. Although there have been several unbelievable 1/6 lately, mainly from Hot Toys, its still hard to top a great custom. Just look at the new Bruce Wayne sculpt that a lot of people are goiing crazy about, I still think Adams has the better likeness hands down.

Great Thor pics, MM! :rock

I see you posted pics of your Rocketeer signed PF base! :rock :rock :rock

Thanks DS! Yeah I was too excited about my Billy Campbell encounter not to post it here :lol

Oh for sure! The amount of time and passion that artists pour into some customs is just impossible for a company to match on a mass production level (Adam's Bruce Wayne is a perfect example).

Re: MarfMaster's Mix

That emperor on his chair looks sick also. Any plans on getting a Luke in there with Vader and Palpy via Return of the Jedi dio?

I would love to get Luke in there, but I'm kind of underwhelmed by the SS figure. I have the PF which I think is (aside from the stance) pretty much perfect, so I haven't been that motivated to commit the cash it would take to make the SS figure great. But a HT quality ANH Han solo and ROTJ Luke are definitely in my top 5 most wanted 1/6 :exactly:

Re: MarfMaster's Mix

True, there hasn't been a great 1/6 Luke. It's unfortunate that the EB didnt look like mark cause the sculpt and paint was impressive.
HT said they would love to do star wars, it's just they can't get the license. Hopefully they can snag that license someday.

Yeah, the EB Luke was disappointing on a few levels :( HT Star Wars would be mind boggling...of course I said that about a HT Indiana Jones as well, and I was less than impressed :lol I thought they teased Star Wars in the literature that surfaced when Indy was announced way back when, but who knows what's going on behind the scenes.
