That's retardation..... Sorry, there's no way I'd pay that.... I could buy TWO busts and have them painted for less than that

pretty much.......this guy made huge profit on this, but defn not worth that change unless SS never comes out with one of their own

OH MY GOD... HE'S A FLIPPER :horror

Actually he's a good flipper. He took an item with flawed paint and then custom painted it to ENHANCE it. Because of this restoration or renovation, he actually added value to the piece. For this, he deserves compensation, and deserves every penny of profit he makes on it. I don't mind when someone buys something damaged and restores it for a profit, even a tremendous profit. In fact, I'm all for it. I really don't mind if a certain someone were to have a piece signed by the original artist or Stan Lee or an Iron Man artist and then sell it for a profit. As long as someone ADDS VALUE to a piece they buy and turn around for a quick profit, that's a great thing. What I really can't stand is when someone buys something, so someone else CAN'T buy it, and then does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to add value to the piece and expects or demands a profit because of it. I think that's just being a pr**k. I really think that if you add value, you deserve a profit, but if you don't add value, you don't deserve any profit whatsoever. Offering people the ability to buy an item that they COULD have bought directly from SSC without adding anything to the value of the piece, doesn't give them any more than they would have got had they bought it from SSC, and thus, it is completely unfair to charge more for it. However, if you go and get the piece signed, that's providing a service, and actually improves the piece, and who knows how much that's worth? I think that's worth whatever anyone is willing to pay.

Ok, although I see what you're saying I think you went a little overboard there (no offense). So you're meaning to tell me that if you had a Doom PF ex you would sell it for retail???? Things will naturally increase/decrease in value based on demand. Now I value your opinion in the fact that you like to sharing the community love for Sideshow's products by not tearing a whole in someone's pocket for a highly desired collectable, but if you have a certain item that's selling for TRIPLE the retail value I'm sure you'd take the extra money :) We all have pieces that are worth more than retail, and A LOT OF US (including myself) have paid more than retail for a STOCK item that didn't have any extra "value" added to it. The item just gained much demand over time and has escalated the price to a premium.

All in all, I personally don't believe that this custom Mark II 1:1 Iron Man bust was worth $1400!!! Especially when there has been confirmed pics of SS having one in the works... Sure it may be worth $1400 to the poor chap, or need I say RICH chap, that purchased this. But it all boils down to what the value of a certain item is....... WHATEVER SOMEONE IS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT!!!! :peace

OMG :banghead in short i believe if you buy it, you can sell it as original or modify it as you see fit and then resell it. is one better than the other.........
i think not since if i bought it then i will do what i want with it, keep it, sell it and make $$$ at it, or sell it for a lose. it's my choice since i bought it!!!!!!!!!!
end of discussion............ but for some reason though i doubt it will be.:(

By flipping, I meant buying with the explicit intent to sell, and not to keep the item.
