Yeah Rogue did a great job on the Duros, he was that one who really got me fired up to learn to cast last year. Although he does not really do 1/6th any more he does pop on from time to time... he is a total 144 scale nut !! I dont know how he does it. He let me know the other day that I could do casts of the Duros for folks who wanted it.

There are so many amazing sculpts around on the boards.. One day I will sit down and do a thread dedicated to all those amazing sculptors who constantly blow us away with their stunning work.

Unfortunately I don't know how to sculpt, but what I saw here on the forum really amazed me. All these Star Wars Aliens are just great. I just wish Sideshow would show a litte more variety and not just one Clone Trooper after the other.

Well, can you blame em?

A ton of people were begging for clones, clones, CLONES!!!

So they started making clones, then saw their potential for re-use in all the different variations on clones that use the basic armor, so they devoted much of their resources to what was more cost effective and also what was most in demand at the time.

Recently, they've put out Greedo, Hammerhead, Yoda, and 2 different Gammorean guards. Not to mention the Cantina band coming up.

So a while ago, there did seem to be a time of endless clones... but now most variations have been made. They recently anounced the green Clone Lieutenant, but as far as I know that's the first clone since the 2 pack with Numa or whoever.

Sideshow seems to be showing much more variety these days.

Yeah, the Hammerhead is a real unique figure, no doubt. The Gamorrean or the Greedo figure are also great, but what I meant is, that making dozens of clones is not very creative. What I'd really would love to see is some chars that we never saw before in 12 inch. Or what about Ahsoka? Or a better looking Padme? I mean the Illum version was kinda weird looking in my opinion. Or a Durge would be really, really cool ;-)

Oh, so you're faulting sideshow for making all the different types of clones, instead of just releasing one and telling everyone "screw it" when they want anything but a plain white one.

I agree about the lack of crucial characters though. Like AOTC Anakin and Padme, or Count Dooku (even though he's in the works.) I think Durge would probably cost upwards of $150 though... they'd have to use the Vader body, and he'd need a ton of armor.

I think the problem is the apparent clone overload combined with the haphazard arrival of items
Greedo and hammerhead arriv almost together and rock but there SEEMS to be nothing but clones
