The sculpt was annoying me as it looked like it should be much closer.

I touched it up the photo with some light burn and dodge touches, going off a photo of Giancarlo Esposito and fifteen minutes later I think it's pretty much there for me.

I really think some basic washes and touch ups could make this very convincing. Not sure if I'm going to get this.. I was on the fence but the initial in-hand shots put me right off.. now seeing what it's capable of, I'm really considering getting a set..

I think you’re right, a touch up would work. I’m more than happy to use the clean look for the tailoring alone, I’ll probably source a custom head and try sell the Mars.
 
Got mine. The sculpt is still there... the paint apps are just too flat. It looks much better under my dioder lighting where the shadows accentuate his distinct facial features.

Your touch ups make it so much better. I think I agree with many here that it's the paint apps that don't do the sculpt justice. I would love to touch up the sculpt, but I have no idea what kind of washes or paint to use and where. Have you seen anyone who has gone through with some touch ups?
