Yea but on those pieces the numbers are on the shippers :lol

Tell him that...

Good point about the number on the box.

Ive seen this sellers auctions as well. He has a ton of high end PFs going up for sale. If all these different PFs are getting recast, this is very scary. I just got into this hobby, I dont want to be dissuaded from collecting.

I remember in comic collecting several years back there was a huge scandal concerning undetectable and undisclosed restoration. As a collector things like this turn people off.

I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt but I thought i'd try the 'im looking for a bulk deal approach' and he took the bait.
I did mention that the number is on the box and he responded the next day with pictures of boxes as he previously didn't post these but won't answer the question directly.
I just asked him if he has any Akumas.

Now that you mentioned it, i made a mistake, but they are awfully similar

What are signs that a Grey Hulk is fake?

I am not a good candidate to ask...you just have to read previous pages of this thread to get a feel of things. I am a new collector as it is.

What I do know is that seller should provide:
ES# so that you can ask people here if its possibly a fake #.
Details pics, not stock pics from manufacture, to help verify details/authenticity.
Shipping from China is a dead give away as most, if not all, products are made from China.
Seller's rating isn't always good indicator of a real items.
Not every seller keep original box/foam/outside brown corrugated box but it might help to identify.
Some fake seller is well-known.....ex. Tamara25, etc.

Again, I am no specialist. Its harder n harder to detect now a days since the people making the original could be also the recast the next.

I appreciate the info. I'll just have to do a lil more research.

does anyone have hulk vs spiderman ES# 213? from the pics it appears the statue is not glossy, the hulk's feet are various green color (not mono-colored), they are both facing each other, and the shipping box is from thousand oaks item# 90021. any other signs I should look for to determine if the status is a fake?

I almost bought the emma frost comiquette from this guy (luckly I was able to buy it from endless1 on these forums instead). Still, can we be sure this guy is selling fake pieces? The pictures (if real) look like authentic product. Is there usually a dead giveway to look for when searching on ebay? (Besides the China factor)

Nothing is a dead give away with the exception of IM Ex Com and HULK vs Spidey.

and that's going on by pics and comparison to the real deal.

so what are some clear signs the hulk vs spidey and IM Comiquette are recasts/fake? have they made any recast/fake street fighter statues yet?

His iron Man comiquette has what appears silver head pegs and a reddish tint to the foot peg [i admit that may be caused by the lighting of the flash].
I checked and mine doesn't have the same looking head pegs.
