Can someone explain to me what characters actually fall in with this license. I would think that all MARVEL characters would be under this umbrella, but then I hear stuff like the Spider-man movies are the rights of SONY. So can some one clarify what is actually under this license? Thanks in advance!

Some copyright licences appears to have a "renew" clause which might restrict other production houses from licensing them. For example, it's possible for Paramount to have one character license while Universal has another. However, Marvel is working hard to keep everything under one roof. This is especially the case now that we're seeing some crossover of characters in film.

Or, that's what I think it is.

:D

I think the Marvel Master license covers anything that Marvel Studios has (Hulk, Iron Man, Blade, Captain America, Thor) Where as 20th Century and Sony has the rights to Spiderman, X-Men, so those need to be attained seperately. I could be mistaken.

Ok so that would explain the delay in seeing a Hot Toys Spider-man. But not the Hulk...which Im thinking is because they have quite figured out how to do the Hulk (body vs cost yet).

What about Fantastic Four then? Is that 20th Century Fox as well?

Not sure if it reverted back to Marvel or not, Mikes the guy to ask those kind of things.

They havent announced anything yet. But back before Blade was announced they had a poll up asking which Marvel Character we wanted next. And Hulk was one of the choices (he won in the poll actually) so Im assuming they plan on doing him. Just a matter of when. But thats me hoping :rotfl

If you're speaking of HT - they have a license for movie characters from Marvel which includes the Fox and Sony characters. However they have only mentioned Spider-man, X-Men and Blade.

You're right. I'd go for a figure of Tobey if it's from Spider-Man 2. Gimme a Molina Ock to boot. I figure they have this guy sculpted and pictured by now given that poll a while back, just waiting to get either the go ahead from Marvel or the right time to show it. Next month could be it. Just to remind us of how cool it could be:

There are also pics of a Ghost Rider prototype.

Where? Id like to see this.

SDCC would be the perfect place to unveil a Spider-Man figure. So here's hoping.

Indeed.

Yup. Id take a Spider-man and a Doc Ock from Hot Toys for sure.

I really hope they unveil a Spidey soon, that would be awesome. By far my most wanted figure from HT. A Molina Doc Ock, eventually, would be be fantastic too.
