Having reviewed the mondo and the third party versions neither worked.

Not sure what you mean by 'neither worked'?

The recent S-Hero animated style Bats and Superman figures are good 3D renditions using the very stylized animated proportions.

Bringing a 2D design like that to life isn't easy but it is being done successfully. I'm sure its well within your company's capabilities; those proportions not fitting in the car --- now that's a different issue, but I would think the majority of fans would prefer a figure that looked like the source material. It doesn't need to 'fit in' with Hot Toys and other realistically proportioned figures because it's not remotely the same thing. Just my take on it but I'm sure I'm not the only one.
