There are two metal brackets holding the shelf up, look closer at the pics

I saw those 2 thin metal brackets holding up close to (if not over) 100lbs of polystone.

I am sure it will hold fine, but that still doesn't mean I would chance it will my PFs

Holly your a brave man with the hulk on glass that thin unless im missing somthing.

There are two metal brackets holding the glass up and under the white sheet you see under the glass I have hidden two 4x4 inch think wood pillars to give extra support to the glass. I would not chance a crash with my HULK, but thanks for looking out :chew

Come on Sideshow, get going with a red Daredevil PF with a yellow Daredevil Ex version and a Cyclops PF with a light up visor Ex version.

There's dozens that I can think of that I'd have no second thoughts about buying

There are so many directions that Sideshow can go in with the Marvel line its scary just thinking about it. But despite the killer pieces that they put out the variety is very limited. If Sideshow did the variety that Bowen did they would rule the statue world with a iron fist.

I strongly agree that the variety they release is very, very limited. I also am really holding out for a Cyclops PF. However, Bowen has taken the word "variety" to a WHOLE new level that even Toy-Biz can't match. C'mon, do we really need busts of Man-Ape, Mangog, or Ringmaster?

I agree, but it usually holds true that quantity and quality are inversely proportional. In other words, if Sideshow did the variety that Bowen did, Bowen and Sideshow would probably be considered equals in the statue world.

Yes I need a Mangog anything (full size perferred) but thats just me. If Sideshow did half of what Bowen did variety wise, I would be blown away. Imagine a PF Silver Surfer action pose. Pf Destroyer anyone. View attachment 9120

I couldnt agree more! Bowen Stuff is getting better all the time too! Sideshow seems to have pushed Bowen into stepping up thier game. Hopefully Bowen with thier new found quality sculpts will push Sideshow into increasing thier divirsity of characters!

I don't understand why people assume that Sideshow is pushing Bowen to up their game? Bowen has been doing this for 10 years now. How long has sideshow been doing marvel? 3 or 4 at the most? give me a break.

Not to mention, Bowen stuff has always been great, maybe youre just too blinded to see that? It's only natural that as time goes on new production techniques etc will of course allow for better looking products.

New found quality sculpts? Some of Bowen's oldest stuff is bringing in big bucks on the secondary market and are the most desired.

Yeah you could say that. So far I've seen mostly movie characters done.

1.) Hulk = movie
2.) Spiderman = movie
3.) Punisher = movie
4.) Green Goblin = movie
5.) Xmen = movie
6.) Electra = movie
7.) Fantastic Four = movie
8.) Dr. Doom = movie
9.) Iron Man = movie
10.) Thor = no movie but rumored
11.) Namor = no movie but rumored
12.) Cap = no movie but rumored
13.) Red Skull = no movies but will most likely appear with Cap.
14.) Sabertooth = movie
15.) Apoclaypse = rumored to be in a new movie
16.) Ghost Rider = movie
17.) Venom = movie

It appears that they mostly do movie types. I'm still waitng for the Surfer which was a big draw in the movies so they should come out with him sometime soon. Otherwise its slim pickings.

I'm not sure if Sideshow has any control over what they sculpt otherwise I think Surfer would be been done 2 years ago. Sideshow may also be content to sell Bowen stuff on their web site and not expand the variety of their own line.

Bowen has been pretty vanilla until recently, IMO. Most Bowen stuff is a dime a dozen at conventions, it the SS stuff that usually commands the high prices.

Also, I find it funny to think that people might find Hulksmashed to be anti-Bowen. You should see how much he has preordered from them.

Youre comparing items with 4000+ edition sizes to sideshow's which is like 500-1000?

If vanilla means true to their comic book counterparts, then yeah i'd agree. Vanilla all the way

I wouldn't say Bowen sculpts have always been great because they haven't. I've seen Bowen's earlier pieces and they just don't look as good to what he's putting out now. Of course fans will like the style of the early stuff as well as liking it out of nostalgia but clearly the later stuff is real good. I often wonder why Bowen does revists of characters already done in the past. If the pieces where that good why go back and improve the character. Plus with so many characters being done by Bowen they have to use outside sculptors who are not that great. Overall both companies are real good and I collect both I just wish Sideshow had variety.
