Episode 4 is fantastic, starts off like a second rate Raiders but then turns into something much more interesting.

I hated that hippo though, trust Marvel to ruin a great scene/sequence with something goofy.
He’s been talking to a celestial pigeon. “The hippo” is a prominent goddess in Egyptian mythology.

She’s prominent in Egyptian mythology regarding birth, the afterlife, and rejuvenation.

Like, that’s true to Egyptian lore predating Moon Knight by thousands of years and for as weird as the episode was, her inclusion makes more sense than most of what we’ve seen.

It’s not like she wasn’t foreshadowed either.

I'm well aware, but there's a stark contrast in design between this

And this

One of those looks good, the other does not.

Yes, because one of them is a god of vengeance, death, and the night moon, and the other is a fertility god associated with new life, children, and healing.

She’s been that way for over 10,000 years our time.

Given Marc/Steven’s current situation, she’s actually the PERFECT god to help right now.

It just doesn't look good though, that's what I'm trying to say. They could have made her look less goofy.

Went from Raiders to a Men in Black movie. Needed to stick to the horror vibe.

Guess no one realizes how Khonsu really looked like:

Maybe all of Marc's personas will have a dance competition in the next episode.

Well, yes, but CGI tech is advanced enough so the hippo didn't need to look like a plastic Target display. Or maybe it was deliberately campy to go with some of the trippy cheek that went on?

Anyway tho I enjoyed the episode; thought it added some depth and showed off some acting chops, compared to last week.

I really like the episode, and the new twist (and setting) the character(s) took.
But yeah, that final shot was a bit campy, although it made me laugh.

I do wish they had gone a more similar approach to Khonsu as a fantastic skeletal mummy
Hippo skulls are terrifying. Imagine if this thing had waved hi instead.
That would have been sensational.

Hippos themselves are actually terrifying, aggressive, territorial man-killing monsters that will chase people for miles.

There’s no escape.

I can't lie, that Hippo statue is pretty bad ***.

There's sort of a determined John Wick kind of glare and there's like a Pimp Hat/Pimp Cane thing going on.

I mean if I was a burglar and broke onto someone's house and this was staring at me in the living room when I breached inside, I might turn around and leave.

I always wanted a military 1/6th line with animals. That might sound strange but I think it would be so cool. Like Gangsters Kingdom but with a Bojack Horseman kind of spin on it.

Imagine a tactical giraffe strangling an enemy. So much meme potential....

Probably the best episode so far. Oscar Isaac just keeps taking this to new levels of brilliance every week. My kids asked me *a lot* about this episode and it was challenging to explain some of it. While they didn’t quite go as dark as I thought they might, it reminded me a lot of those flashback scenes to when Fisk was younger in DD (obviously much less brutal though).

Wow! I didn't expect this episode to be so deep and emotional after the end of last episode. That might be the most incredibly powerful story/performance of Marvel I have seen so far. Great episode and to think we didn't even see Moon Knight fight in it. Bravo Marvel, the creative team and Oscar on delivering that to us. Cannot wait for the grand finale and Doctor Strange in back to back days for me.
