Asa is the kid who played Ender, right?
He's got that teenage angst thing going for him, and he looks geeky enough. I think he'd do a good young Peter Parker.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony - SPIDER-MAN: THE NEW AVENGER

If I were an actress or actor in these days of high definition, I'd have every single little "thingie" taken off my whole body because I certainly hate seeing that stuff on the big screen. That's all you look at!

I'm one of those people who loves the character in every face, nothing is a flaw to me. Who wants a world full of plastic perfection? Except for 1/6 collectors that is. :lol

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony - SPIDER-MAN: THE NEW AVENGER

Yea but that mole is too front and center. It's pretty fickle, but if I'm honest I'd prefer it not be him based solely on that. :lol He'll pull that mask off and that'll be all I see. I can imagine the edited gif already, he pulls off the mask and has no face, just a big mole.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony - SPIDER-MAN: THE NEW AVENGER

I'm not familiar with either one, but the Asa kid does have a very Parkeresque look to him. His eyes have a much greater depth to them.

Re: Marvel Studios/Sony - SPIDER-MAN: THE NEW AVENGER

For the first film, much more important than this casting decision is the choice of director. "John Hughes plus superhero stuff" sounds like an interesting mix. If they can do legitimate John Hughes then they'll really be targeting teen audiences and older with the stories (Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller, Weird Science), and not little kids. But it also seems like the idea would be making Spidey more relatable to audiences than either Maguire (too cartoony) or Garfield (not nerdy and believably troubled enough) was.

I'm interested to see how they might pull that off.

Sadly I have to agree. That young feller should get that looked at (and removed either way)

Hugo is awesome. Asa Butterfield for the win, please.
