She clearly went to the same accelerated Dark Side program as Anakin. :lol

The entire series suffered when it went from Martin's pacing to we-ran-out-of-money-and-time pacing.

:lol

That's the thing, they didn't even run out of time and money. They chose to truncate the last two seasons.

And for me it wasn't even the speed of Dani's turn rather the fact it happened at all that I didn't like.

I thought they chose to truncate because they were getting too expensive? But yeah, clearly Palpatine/Snoke got Dani on Force Skype. Not cool.

I think a lot of people rested their laurels on Dani... and I think that's exactly why the writers did what they did with her character. I have come to like the inevitable ending for Dani actually. It was certainly shocking, and rushed, however it was not a surprise.

How many of you have actually watched the entire series over again from the beginning? I have (right now actually), and there is a ton of evidence that Dani is an autocrat-in-training; selfish, egotistical and self-important with a growing thirst for power and vengeance. There is very little that she does for the People in GoT... it is truly for herself to have thankful masses. Like other characters and most of the audience, you get fooled by her seeming genuine belief in what's right and her struggle to conquer. I agree her 'snap' moment was rushed and there are better ways to realize her ultimate twist, but I am not opposed to having her become the very thing she swore not to become.

As rushed as it was... nothing can hold a candle to Anakin's turn to the dark side. He's like SNL's Chad with a shrug: OK...

I'll give you that; when I think hard about it she steadily grew more vengeful and autocratic, and her turn is very much in keeping with the bleak view of power and violence espoused in GoT -- but it was fast and clumsy. Like Anakin, very much a case of premature e -- never mind.

Yes. I agree. But no more rushed than the Night King's finale. I feel like that Epic Battle needed two episodes... while the first two episodes of Season 8 really wasted time in 'welcome back' scenes between characters. Almost like a reunion show.

My biggest disappointment in the show was Cersei's comeuppance... or lack thereof. She died in her lover's embrace. If you got to go, that's all you'd want. She never should have been awarded that comfort for all the evil she perpetuated.

Agreed. I also feel like they shied away from going Full GoT by letting Brienne's panicked reaction to being swarmed by undead result in her immediate rescue.

I would have loved to see her get what she deserves, but once again, in GoT, good people get the shaft more often than evil ones.

I think it needed that stuff, that was fine. Just, why'd the season have to be so damn short after that.

Well, again my criticism about wasting two episodes up front was with the knowledge that you only have 6 episodes total. If there were 10, then let the first 2 be reunions. But wasting 30% of your episodes on back-slapping -- which is something GoT never did before upon returning seasons -- just seems unnecessary and lazy.

Feige's lastest post on The Eternals:

"The trailer will be so awesome that you'll immediately want to go talk about GoT or ROTS instead," lol.

It did get 77mil views on it's first day. FWS got 125ish but was on SB Sunday. Beat Shang Chi and BW, although that doesn't seem to be much of a feat. People want their Marvel, but I think they are expecting something that won't deliver.

But how many of those 77 million views were from people who were told: you have to see how bad this looks? :lol

View count does not equate love or hate. Just curiosity.

A lot of people are curious about things they will never try. Just think about the myriad of sex acts you might watch but would never try.

I watched the trailer but it's highly unlikely I'll ever watch the movie.

The series is chock full of unpaid payoffs. Who didn't want Robb Stark to get his hands on that little **** Joffery?

Agreed with viewer count. Just saying it is a lot. But...

Yeah. That hacking on his pregnant wife was just horrific.

way to degrade the thread. :monkey1
