I remember back in season 1, there was criticism over Majors' portrayal of He Who Remains, and how much of a clown he was. I love how he switched into a more serious tone as soon as Loki laid down his cards.

If they're recasting Kang, I hope they get someone as good as Majors. If he is found to be innocent, then I hope Marvel/Disney keeps him.
I haven't been impressed with any of his Kang performances so far. He just comes off as absolute overacting amateur every time. Innocent or not I would love a recast but then again I Don't think a recast would save the MCU at this point, a full reboot is in order

It does make the "Variety" article look rather silly now, with their "source" saying the Loki finale somehow entrenched Majors in the MCU so much that they were screwed... but, if anything, it made writing him out even easier.

I also think that it's cool that the MCU could do full-on rebooted, and yet the events of this finale would still matter. No matter the "branch", no matter the new timelines and universes, it's being kept going by the character whose "birthright was to die as a child, cast out onto a frozen rock".

His character arc has so much nuance that it has elevated every single one of his scenes from every MCU movie!

Re-watching those movies that he’s in is gonna feel different now and very very rewarding.

This ending is next level craftsmanship in the MCU.

They absolutely wove it all together seamlessly.

I think his performance has been fine throughout, but the problem is all his Kang's have come across like a bunch of quirky oddballs, which makes it difficult to take him seriously as the next, Thanos-level threat.

And by this point I get the sense most people are just exhausted with the character.

I'll disagree in that while originally I found the goofiness irritating (WTF?) IMO the last interaction with Loki was pretty chilling. A measured, indulgent but contemptuous villain, supremely intelligent - so for me the whole arc is pretty cool. The puppetmaster yanking the strings the whole time. But to me Majors got across the complete alone-ness of his existence as well.

Helped immeasurably by Hiddleston's performance :love and just the way the conversation was handled. Then that last bit of Loki mischief, as it were. Changing the equation.

And hafta say I've appreciate the governmental 50s/60s retro design aesthetic the whole time. I've got relatives who were either in the military or government jobs way back, *warm fuzzies*. Yep, that looked familiar. This series never came off to me as looking cheap.

Hopefully this isn't the last of what the MCU is still capable of:monkey2. Unfortunately for me the Echo trailer didn't light a fire. Happy I dodged spoilers and watched Loki S2 in one go.😁

I still don’t understand the Timelines and Multiverse in the MCU. So the Timelines are all branched from the main MCU? But there are also other Universes that aren’t branches/Timelines?

Well met. Strong writing from this season, looking forward to seeing where Loki ends up in he who is now my favorite MCU character. Hopefully, they don't waste the opportunity to make something of these events unlike some other ones (Eternals). That's one of the problems with the MCU since Endgame, nothing established seems to develop further. I would've found a way to get mutants in by now. Feige keeps throwing the word (and characters) out there but never takes it anywhere.

Nope

The timelines are handled outside of the multiverse…I know I know eye rolls are welcome lol

Look its all from the funny books just roll with it ok lol

Think of the TVA as Santa’s North Pole.

MCU Earth is within the multiverse 616 to be exact and in DS2 he traveled into Earth 838 with their version of the Illuminati.

The Marvels X-Men is NOT 838 though.

But they talk about the multiverse in Loki... but also make out like Timelines are a completely different thing... so they make it confusing.

So with the Kangs it's a timeline war and not a multiversal war..? :lol

By X-Men and 2099 comic logic, all timelines are different multiverses, but not all multiverses are different timelines. Going back can create a branch that creates a new multiverse entirely, or simply alter a pre-existing timeline's future. And then there are those that are pulled outside of regular time and space to dimension-hop around, and then there's Nexus beings which are technically part of every multiverse and timeline and...

Oh I get what you’re asking now lol

Are Timelines the same as a Multiverse!

For example you could have 1 billion timelines within a single universe but it still be within the same universe.

A multiverse would be a copy of that universe and it could literally bring 1 billion different earths all floating right next to each other from different universes, an incursion!

A multiverse means you are conservative in one universe and a liberal in the other universe or lets say a cop in one and a criminal in the other.

A timeline exists within these universes that you can time travel within.

Ughhh

Sorry just having ajp/a-dev/Khev T2 PTSD lol

This **** is dumb as ****

I thought they used timelines and multiverse interchangeably. The Ancient One said that time travel creates a new branched reality and HWR pruned the variant timelines so that his multiverse variants didn't exist.
