Serkis' Claw is rumored still. But with Killmonger and Man-Ape in the film, Idk how big of a role all these people will have. I imagine Michael B Jordan's Killmonger is the meaty villain of the film.

Why doesn't he just fight Kong.

'Cause T'Challa ain't got time for punk-*** animals.

:lol :lol :lol

Look, lets be honest here Marvel villains are irrelevant at this point, if they mess up Thanos then the MCU will really have been for nothing save a great job by RDJ as Stark and Evans as Cap plus the amazing superhero action on display and seeing Spidey interacting with the Avengers.

If they do get Thanos right and IW offers a very competent finale then all shall bow to the MCU to worship what they were able pull off.

Back to Panther, this is shaping up to be the crown jewel of the standalone movies.

I sure as hell don't care about Thanos at this point.
I'm more excited for Urban's Skurge even tho I know he's gonna die in that film.

I don't even see how, with the characters that are introduced in the mcu, that Thanos can be anywhere near the power he has in the comics. He'd curbstomp everyone in the MCU...easily..even bad writing wouldn't save them.

In the comics, Thanos' demise wasn't due to iron man or cap.

Nope, he ain't knocking out Galactus anytime soon up on the big screen.

I'm guessing he might be a nuisance like Doomsday was.

Vision will die.....and.....that's it lol.

Thanos better break Cap's shield. That would be a memorable moment and something that no one has been able to do so far, not even Thor's hammer.

As far as Thanos being a good villain goes, it might take more than one film to make a character a great villain. That's probably why Loki worked.

Maybe sometimes a villain needs more than one film. IMO, Darth Vade became great in the sequel. In the first film, other than choking some random guy, he just stood around. What's going to make Thanos a good villain is good dialogue and lines and some acts of meaningful violence.

I don't remember, did Loki get popular from Thor or Avengers?

I want Thanos to be the unstoppable foe that he is in comics, but since the heroes are weaker than their comic counterparts I'm sure the same trend will continue with the villains.

As far as character goes, Thanos seems disappointing so far. But he does have his eventual beef with the avengers and the guardians so I'm hoping his experience with both brings out the better parts of the character.

Even in the comics, Thanos can be rather dull. It all depends on who is writing...

I think Avenger is where Loki became popular and he had the iconic look with the long spiky Sonic the Hedgehog hair style. But I think the Thor film did a good job introducing the character, making him somewhat sympathetic, and a bit of a tragic figure, so by the time people saw him in Avengers, he wasn't just a one dimensional villain who wants world domination.....even though that's kind of what he wanted, but there were other reasons that were motivating him besides power, but that's where the first Thor film comes in.

I thought Thanos scene in GOTG was good and I really liked his dialogue to the point that I can actually remember every single line :lol So they must have done something right.

I agree with that. I love all the Asgardian aspects of Thor 1. Thor, Loki, Odin, Heimdall, Sif, Frost Giants, etc., I thought all worked and due to the well-written relationships I thought Loki was a very interesting take on the original source.

Agree, Loki was well established in Thor 1 going forward, his forest talk with Thor in Avengers was very well done.

Regarding Vader, he had become a huge hit in 77 after just 1 movie and then in ESB he solidified his best villian in cinematic history.

All I remember as a 10 year old seeing Vader in 77 was.....WHAT...THE...****...IS...HE!

Then TPM arrived and gave me Jake Lloyd lol.

I agree with you that the MCU heroes and villains so far are pretty weak compared to their comic book counterparts. That's one thing I liked about X Men Apocalypse, the characters were pretty powerful and they weren't afraid to show it even if the film became a huge CGI mess :lol

I can't really imagine Thanos' powers or abilities in the MCU. He must be strong if Ronan the Accuser, who could kill people without touching them was afraid of Thanos. Then again, he lost to a guy dancing so who knows? :dunno

I think Vader and the other characters were memorable because they looked different from anything in 1977. Seriously, look at the rest of the films of 1977, there was nothing like SW. But now? People in costumes and makeup is nothing special. It takes more than a cool costume to make a character memorable. Davy Jones looking as amazing as he does in the Pirates films would have been mind blowing in the 70's, but now he's just some CGI dude.

Oh and Hannibal Lecter is the GOAT :monkey3 Vader was a ***** by the third film.

We don't even know what he's capable of, Marvel hasn't established anything about him other than he floats in a chair.

I wonder when they're going to reveal his threat level and how.
