Time for another salary battle:

Samuel L. Jackson has said that Nick Fury will not appear in The Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers 4, or Black Panther - and he doesn't seem entirely happy about that.

Speaking to Yahoo Movies UK, the veteran actor (who hasn't appeared in a Marvel film since 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron) was pretty clear about his status in the next superhero team-up: "I’m not in Avengers 3 and 4. They’re shooting them now - they haven’t called me yet.”

Avengers: Infinity War has wrapped, but the untitled Avengers 4 has only recently begun production.

Jackson seems more irked about being left out of another upcoming Marvel project, however:

“They wouldn’t let me go to Black Panther-ville. It’s kind of like: 'How you gonna make a black Marvel movie and not let Nick Fury show up in it?'”

But, but, Marvel is notorious for not even telling the actors stuff and just calling them to show up. The Russos have already said they're focusing on several major arcs in IW and then other key characters will have smaller, but important roles e.g. handling the massive cast so the story isn't complete chaos.

And IMO *logically* there's no particular reason for Fury to show up in BP:dunno. I'm guessing they could write something in, no problem, but seems like a pretty crammed cast already + there's already sort of a mentor figure in Zuri, apparently. Maybe it was would have been one "wise older figure" too many to have Fury there.

Anyway I was more PO'd about no Bucky, Cap, team Cap etc. in BP:( (tho I've read a lot of discussion pro and con). I just thought it was too much of a big fat elephant in the room and too important of a narrative to just do a throw-away line about it after CW (as well as my blatant favoritism:monkey3 love team Cap:cool:). Too important of a statement about T'Challa and who he is as a character.

But reading some older stuff the Russos were talking about Cap/Bucky and Vision/Wanda and IW arcs all the way back to 2015-16, right after they were confirmed for IW. Hadn't thought that e.g. if "related" films are already in planning before another film, then the "newer" film can't spin a story that might mess up the already-planned story. E.g. the Russos already had dibs on Team Cap. Maybe:dunno.

I just don't like story arcs and casting being done for "social" reasons IMO that doesn't usually work out well. IMO story arcs should make some kind of *logical* sense. E.g I guess the writers could use Fury in BP but sounds like then they used up more of his contract and he might be needed in other films.

I still expect something in BP even if after the credits. Doesn't Bucky fight withT'Challa in Wakanda in the Infinity teaser?

I think there may be. CW had the end credit lead-in to BP and it's been said in press etc. that BP and Ragnarok lead directly to Infinity War. Also
there's this from Leticia Wright re Shuri:

Letitia Wright stars as Shuri in the upcoming Black Panther, the younger sister to T'Challa, who's well-versed with Wakanda's tech. Of all the gear she gets to play with, the actress revealed a pair of gauntlets hold a special place in her heart.

“My favorite tech so far has been the gauntlets because obviously, that is my baby," the actress revealed in an interview with ScreenRant. "That is my protection and I made them, so that’s been my favorite so far. And there is more in store. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone."

E.g. *guessing* a new arm for Bucky. Although re the comics T'Challa's friend W'Kabi has a bionic arm and I wondered if somehow Bucky would end up with that arm, except it's W'Kabi's right arm in the comics and Bucky's left arm needs replacing:panic:. ANYWAY at least in the comics, the tech is there. And being in an end credit IMO isn't being "in" a movie.

Yeah sounds like they have numerous outlets to work around to at least give Bucky a nod...or an arm. Lol

“Being in a Marvel film is the pinnacle of secrecy training,” Brown said. “You get the script, but not a hard copy. And then, like, it dissolves — like, it’s ‘Mission: Impossible.’ The link self-destructs. … Then you get to set and they give you your sides [scenes] for the day, and when you finish shooting, you turn your sides in. And if you don’t turn your sides in — ‘cause I forgot mine at the hotel one time — they follow you to your hotel to get your sides. And then you sign out. They ain’t … around.”

This explains why SJ doesn't know he's in a Marvel movie. They probably already shot his scenes and he doesn't even know it.

D@mmit, explains why there haven't been any interesting set pic leaks from BP, IW, or Thor.:monkey3

I'm not all into this film since seems like my favs aren't gonna be in it (Cap/Bucky/Falcon/SW) and the rest of the fugitives - but like, whatever. It's still MCU, I like Boseman's T'Challa (and Forest Whitaker and Angela Bassett; Martin Freeman and Andy Serkus) and supposed to lead to IW and when are they going to release the **** IW trailer....:(

But been a lot of hype/chatter re Thor and IW...finally a bit about BP 'coz some scenes were recently shown to politicians?:

“The action is kinetic, like a mixture of Coogler’s fight scenes from Creed and the manic bullet ballets from Kingsman movies.”

POTENTIAL MILD SPOILER-y LINK:

Sounds promising:dunno. Wish they would release the stuff from SDCC.

WOW!

What an incredible monday morning surprise damn Marvel you’re killing it and it being WB. Poor JL nothing but pulverized rubble remains.

The only thing left now for the Thor fan event to show off is an IW trailer.

Pretty "meh" trailer overall. Good visuals. Here's hoping the performance from Boseman is solid as it was in CW (the best part of that film).

Looks great.

Although, some of the hip hop lyrics sound like they're saying "meow" like "right meow".... Intentional? :lol

LOL I'll disagree with you on both counts but it's all good:). Think this film is gonna have the grit I was looking for ratcheting up for IW.

Hyped after this trailer 'coz I thought the early synopsis was kinda bland and the first trailer didn't show much IMO, but agree some great visuals. And a cast with presence. IMO that Marvel juggernaut just keeps rollin' along from the looks of it.:lol
