I'd like to forget about all of them! Marvel is sucking big time these days IMO. DC is where its at as far as stories and content currently.

Case in point:

DC: Sinestro Corps War was executed flawlessly. Hard hitting stories with serious and lasting impact on the Green Lantern mythos while still being extremely entertaining. That of course was followed up by one of the most brilliant re-telling/retcons in comic history that drastically changed the implications of the Jordan Green Lantern origin while maintaining perfect continuity.

Marvel: One More Day followed by Brand New Day.....Continuiwhoywhatsit?

:stick (DC checking to see if Marvel is dead yet)

I agree 101% bro.

Have you guys read the new DC "Faces of Evil" ongoing epic mini-series? You don't need to have read any DC comic, or know the back stories, or need to even have heard about the characters to pick one -- any one -- of the dozens of issues up, and be blown away.

Back to Marvel:

Secret Invasion = Dugan dead, Elektra dead (for all we know).

War of Kings = Black Bolt now "Ruler" of the Kree. Like really!?! Isnt this the same Marvel that created a mythos for the Kree previously?

Civil War/Fall Son = Cap + Black Goliath both dead.

Annihilation = Thanos "dead";

Then no more SHIELD? Seriously!?

The individual character arcs themselves are hardly any better. I no longer bother with ASM, DareDevil and Thor are both utter pants and confusing as hell. Then Rulk shows outta no where and just as quickly disappears... oh and now we have the whole Iron Woman, She Black Panther, She Loki, She Sinister, Lady Bullseye and everyone else that they've decided to add to the gender change band wagon..

I've gotta say that Marvel's storylines leave a lot to be desired these days... especially for Hard Core fans. I mean Reginald Hudlin now writing Black Panther!? wtf?

Only Moon Knight, Ms Marvel and a select few others are worth reading for me... even Nova that I'd been raving about is now a cringe-inducing bore fest :banghead

And sorry for my long rant guys but I'm sooo pissed off and disappointed. I just had to say something in this thread

See this is why I stopped collecting comic books.I think it was around the time when the Uncanny X-men,X-Factor,X-Force and all the other mutant titles were having there 100th crossover.
Each comic had some "special edition" cover going on every other week and it cost $4.50 or more.I saved enough money(at the time I worked part time)NOT buying comics,I went to London!!!:D
Now I see a female Wolverine character and all these zombie story lines,I think I would have gone mad collecting them all.

Not entirely true.

Thor is good (a little slow, but building up to something big, JMS is no slouch)

Cap is good (again, a little slow as of late, Brubaker is solid)

Invincible Iron Man is great (Matt Fraction has a good bead on this character).

Hulk is a travesty, but I can't stop picking it up (it's fun)

As far as DC goes, nothing on the shelves right now is as good as Green Lantern. Geoff Johns knows how to run a show.

I still disagree about Thor and the direction Straczynski has decided to take him (even though I love his new look!), too much talk and far too little action in the first 7 or so issues, they build up the tension but then it's almost always anti-climatic... most of these issues seem to be about is Loki's incessant scheming. The last issues really picked up the pace, but I'm still not convinced

Cap's awesome and Brubaker's had that locked down tighter than frog's ass for a long time now! Iron Man was great up until the last issue #10, which I cant talk about.

I do have to agree that Rulk was a fun romp... but it didn't really tie in well. I thought Hulk was gonna take a new darker direction when I saw him meditating at the end of Planet Hulk, and the first two issues of WWH - especially the Black Bolt fight - really rocked. Right now I'm not really sure where it's headed, and while INC HEC is a bit fun (more because of Amadeus imo), I dont think I'll be picking those issues up if the big green guy doesnt return to form.. soon.

Green Latern is really, really good. But so is the whole of "Faces of Evil" arc. I telling you man, you gotta read a few of those. I'm hooked! :chew:chew

I hope I wont get my arse kicked for "spoilers". A lot of this stuff is about a year -- or several months -- old :angelsmil

:lol I was just teasing. Besides you only had a couple spoilers that I didn't know (and I take it as my own fault because I wait for the TPB's instead of getting the issues or even the hardcovers). It's all good. :duff

ya its annoying, specially the loki and sinister thing.. since they were replaced not just another female character.
