Just got back from Seattle's Emerald City Con (where I got sick, ugh) and wanted to thank the posters for the positive response. MJ looks cool. and Sideshow and I have made pinky promises to make the next figures in the series even more AH!-like.

There's a few places on MJ that suffer from a minor communication problem, like the table. I'd originally planned it to look like you were seeing part of a larger scene, MJ folding laundry at a table. The 'area' of the scene was to extend no further than the base. It was as if you had an circular column where you can 'see' what's important. I figured if what we saw of the table ended at the base's edge, it'd feel like a 3-D vignette of sorts. Well, that was my plan. I think I didn't impart that idea properly; the base should be as big as the amount of table we see, and the table should extend no further.

I'll just make more doodles and drawings so that my wacky ideas don't get waylaid by the normal human brains at Sideshow not being able to understand my wackiness!

So the table support was intended to be further back and obscured by something else in the foreground such as a door frame or something? That would've looked cool, oh well.
Get well soon Adam!

No, no.... I guess this is an example of how I confused the brain trust at Sideshow. :)

You still see the same part of the table, it is no different. But the circular base she's standing on extends as far as the cut-off part of the table. The 'edge' of the base is the total image area of what's going on. Everything inside, we see. Mary Jane, laundry basket, floor, part of a table. Everything OUTSIDE the base, is non-essential and taken as said that it's there: the rest of the table... the room she's in..... NYC......

Next time, I'll just draw an example. Stick to what you know, right?

Wow, I actually have NO idea when they put the stuff up for pre-order. I'm not in THAT particular loop.

Most of the stuff I draw NEVER looks like it was planned, so I guess the statues will be the same way. You fine folks may never know how close (or far) they are to my original concept, but as long as the collector gets some enjoyment out of the purchase, I can always find cold comfort somewhere, usually in a bottle tequila. Why do they always keep the solace in liqour ALLLLL the way at the bottom of the bottle?

Okay, I got what you're saying. No further examples needed.

Generally I find it is because I am normally sharing the bottle with someone and it just so happens that my half is at the bottom and I have to drink past the other persons half to get to it. LOL

MJ looks great it is interesting how it varies from the flat art with details such as the placement of worn spots in the jeans and hanging belt etc. All in all I think it came out fairly close. This line is hot to say the least. Got anything in the works for She Hulk I know you can't say but doesn't hurt to ask.
