Yeah, I realized that a little while after posting. I'm a Sentinel, so I guess my character can't use heavy weapons. Oh well. next playthrough ^_^

actually you can use heavy weapons, I have a grenade launcher, a rocket launcher, and a collector beam weapon. it's sniper rifles and assault rifles you can't use. not sure about sub machine guns, don't have any yet. I'm a sentinel too, the shield boost is pretty cool but your regular powers I don't think seem that great, outside of the ice blast.

so am I the only one that would want hot toys to make 1/6 figures out of some of these characters?

I wouldn't mind a Krogan or a Turian. Other than that I don't have much interest in the human characters unless the armor was really awesome.

And I kinda agree with you regarding the Sentinel. I kinda wish I went with a vanguard or an adept, but live and learn (and wait for the next playthrough )

21.5 hours in (Level 20) and I'm still taking my sweet time. I really don't want it to end. Don't know if I've ever been this in love with a game before. It'll probably dethrone KOTOR as my #1 gaming experience of all time.

BioWare owns me.

Also, I know it may be apples vs oranges, but the difference in quality between the writing/characters in AVATAR and MASS EFFECT 2 is laughable. It's not even close.

On a side note, i got a 5.1 receiver and Polk speakers some time ago, but could never get Bass to come out of any 360 (dolby digital) game...until now. Apparently I had to set the receiver to show 'Small speakers.' Of course I had set it to Large - ego and all that, I guess. Weird how Bass works via Small speaker mode, and not large.....you need a Sound degree to totally understand modern receivers

On the subject of the fish dying, mine was ridiculous, cause i walked into the cabin, and went up to the tank seeing the fish and the feed button highlighted and i went ahead and hit it, and the screen slowly faded out and back in real quick and the fish were just gone...

I did do the same thing, ran to the hamster but he was still there, annoying though that they'll just disappear at random like that.

Eventually I took that one crewmate to dinner and she told me she'd feed my fish. Yeah well why couldn't you have told me that a few missions ago??

I hate this game, was up to 530 playing it last night. Really fun and at times seems like a movie. Was glad to see my favorite character back from the first game as well.

I was up until 3a.m. myself. Really fun indeed and you don't realize how long you've been playing until 2 or 3 hours have gone by.

I just finished the Horizon colony mission after having recruited 4 members (not counting Jacob and Miranda). Is that about half-way through the game? I've done all the side missions so far and scanned every planet I've come across and it's taken me about 8-9 hours.

I wonder if I can finish the game during the weekend. Bioshock 2 is out next week.

i think that only works for your character not the npc's

^^ Oh that stinks. I was hoping it would work that way since it was mentioned in the dialog once. No matter...I'm only concerned with getting some action from Miranda and Jack.

yea, it only works on sheppard. Cool thing just happened to me, I didn't know that you'd be able to learn a new weapons class at a certain point. I'm a sentinel and I just learned the assault weapons class. you get a choice from assault, sniper, and shotgun. not sure what the choice is for other character classes though. The only thing I dislike about this game so far is the lack of armor and weapons and not being to swap them out on the fly like the first.
