I think I've reached a point (or played enough) where I don't care about the game's few shortcomings. I'm a good 15 hours in. This game rocks! Cinematically, it's much better than part 1 and I don't think I'm even halfway through. I think my favorite part about the presentation this time, aside from the improved cutscenes, is that characters no longer stand in one spot during the entirety of the dialogue segments. They move around! They lean on things. they do stuff.

The characters are so much better this time, and even Shepard seems to have more personality even using the Paragon dialogue choices. Except for Wrex in the first game, none of the team mates were particularly interesting. In Mass Effect 2, almost all the team mates are interesting or have great personalities, particularly Thane, Grunt, and Mordin. I mean, the first time you meet Thane are Grunt? Awesome! Garrus is also cooler this time now that he isn't bound to C-Sec rules. The only squad members I'm not particularly found of are Jack and Zaeed. I'm okay with _______ characters, but these guys are a bit much.

I should mention that the Mass Effect 2 is much funnier than Mass Effect 1. One example -- I was on Illium and in a bar there was a group of NPCs sitting at a table watching a stripper. If you interact with them, they say the funniest stuff about a bachelor party.

I am loving Zeed...Is he not in the game at all if you dont download his DLC, or just the side mission.

I am going really slow (on purpose), Ive done much of the planet scanning and unexplored worlds (which I enjoy doing, ironically) and am now just at Omega, about 11 game hours in....which for most is probably less time to get to Omega, but was saving myself.....I am a level 9 vanguard, about to be a 10....so doing ok I guess. Playing on Veteran on my inital playthrough is challenging at times

Wow the suicide Mission is insane!

For those who want all your crew and shipmates to live do not do the mission to get the FFI until you've done all the loyalty missions first except Legion's (do it as soon as possible tho.) And dont do any side missions between the collectors taking over the Normandy and the Omega 4 relay jump the longer you wait between these two levels the more of your crew dies. ( i did a lot of side missions and the only crew to survive was the doctor chick I miss Kelly haha).( a friend had no dead crew cause he didnt wait)

I messed up the fight between jack and miranda and sided with Miranda so jack wasnt loyal and she died...along with thane who was in my party. (quite upsetting cause he was loyal)

Make sure your ship is upgraded all the way before Omega 4 Relay.

I also had the Reaper come back to life and that was epic. I dont know what triggers that cause my friend didnt have to fight it twice.

So I'm level 21, getting towards the end before I go through the Omega 4 Relay, but I have a question to those who have beat the game. I haven't done any of the Ship Enhancements because they require massive amounts of Resources. Question: Do you really need them towards the end, or can I not even bother getting them done?

i would assume you dont need them, but having them would make the last part of the game easier. Kinda like

When you are first meeting Garrus and you have the opp to mess around with the mech to have it attack its own people. As well as attacking the guy who is fixing the gunship.

Hey guys, I have a sort of odd question to ask (no spoilers, I think):

When did the Collector Ship mission occur for you? It's the mission in which you board the seemingly derelict ship. It automatically happened for me after I had only recruited half of the possible Squad members. After the mission ended, I had a choice of continuing to recruit more squad members or to hit the Omega 4 relay immediately.

My friend told me that your choice above affects the end of the game somehow?

Your ship gets beat up pretty badly even with all the upgrades, without any of them? Well, the devs did say it could be an actual suicide mission. Maybe they meant it. You could just try it and find out then report back, just keep a save before you go through the relay.

stupid question, but does endorsing different stores in the Citadel cause problems in the long run? I'm trying to do all the paragon options, but doing the multiple endorsements makes me feel like a douche. You would think a Paragon mindset would prevent Shepard from saying every store is his/her favorite store.

Nope. It doesn't affect your Paragon points.

It's a pre-order right now. I imagine more sizes will again become available.

That said... I'd better secure my size Medium right now, just in case.

Why do I get Renegade points for flirting with my shipmates?

Getting Renegade points seems unavoidable sometimes.

Protocol or not, I'm saving the damn universe. I should be allowed to flirt with anyone I want without being morally judged! And I'm flirting with humans! Cerberus should promote that.

Well, I am 16 game hours in, and still recruiting...about to do the Miranda and Jacob loyalty missions...really good game...and looks fantastic. So nice playing missions without any real framerate issues!

Yeah I noticed I get 4 or 5 Renegade points sometimes too and I don't know why. I'm going Paragon and the amount of those I have is still alot more than Renegade but I just don't know why I get them sometimes.

Anyway, still an amazing game so far. I've logged about 32 hours and I have 2 more crew members to recruit and some more Loyalty missions, I think I've only done 2 of those. After that I'll be in the final stages of the game I think. I'm trying to take my time as much as I can and I'm loving every minute of it. :rock
