Wedge Antilles X-Wing Helmet Scaled Replica

from MR newsletter:

Presenting the Wedge Antilles X-Wing Helmet Scaled Replica! This stunning scaled replica helmet is constructed from injection molded plastic with high quality die-cast metal components. As with all of Master Replicas' upcoming scaled helmet line - this will be the first one released! - the Wedge Antilles scaled helmet is completely authentic, and is based on reference provided from the Lucasfilm archive. Strictly limited to 1,500 units, it will serve as a beautiful companion piece to the Luke Skywalker X-Wing Scaled Replica Helmet slated to be released later this year!

What did they say it was made of?

PLASTIC?

:rotfl :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

(Does it say the price? This line sounds awesome, hopefully it's not a cash hog.)

Gawd, MR actually found something more boring than Endor Rebels to kick off a line?

Yow!

Well, more $$ for me to spend elsewhere at CIV. :p

kinda glad TBH con exclusive shouldn't be too awesome as a rule IMO

not everyone can attendee the con

unless your sideshow, who cater for everyone :D

You're right, Exclusives shouldn't be something "awesome" that everybody "has" to have. But they don't have to be so "meh", either. Especially at a huge SW-only event that commemorates the 30th anniversary??

That said, I think SSC's CIV exclusives are pretty neat... even if the announcement of Ceremonial Luke was a bit of a letdown after speculation of Farmboy Luke, Old Ben, etc.

Why is a Celebration Luke a letdown as a Celebration exclusive?

Anyway -- is there any way MR will make some of these Wedge helmets available to non-attendees, Karma? And what of the price point? Hope the newsletter mentions that.

Thanks!

I plan on getting most of the MR scaled helmets. So we'll see on this.

no non-attendees quota, MR have deliberately released a lower ES to ensure sell out at con

collectors society members don't even get a shot at them

We are not offering a non-atendee product. This is the edition size. We are also going to be offering at least one more exclusive we haven't announced yet!
We are expecting to sell out with the smaller edition size.

How lovely and caring of them. So not a soul who doesn't attend this particular convention can be a completist in this line.

Oh well, at least they've shown their intentions with the very first release in the line.

Because there are at least a half dozen other figures speculated on that I would have been much more excited about?

C'mon, you can't honestly hold a company to task for not producing something that was speculated and hoped they would produce.

They produced something nice, but it wasn't what people thought it would be. It's still nice, though...

I'm not saying it's bad. And I've seen the clandestine pic floating around. Looks like a nice figure. Just nothing very exciting about it TO ME and nothing I'm too eager to get. That's all.

I'm not getting it either, but that's because I'm not getting the 12" anymore.

Seriously, collect Dioramas for a stress-free life. You'll have great pieces of modern sculpting, and you'll never be able to say that there's a glaring omission in the line whether they make 2 or 20 total -- each of them is a standalone display piece to be proud of.

People can be unduly harsh to MR here. Props aren't for everyone. I think it's a nice piece, but I'm only into the full scale pieces. Rebel fans will eat these up.

That kinda makes no sense you say it shouldnt be something everyone will want and I belive that Farmboy Luke and Old Ben would be very high on that list. I think the Ceremonial Luke is perfect show exclusive not something everyone will want but also something that alot of people will want.

Agreed. But just as long as they do Obi vs. Vader -- the real version.
