all i know is that everyone was happy until they denied that alternate Grizzlor sculpt to the public. and said "no more 200x influences". then everybody started cryin'. i don't see anything different to Buzz-off and Clawful than any of the past figures. people would be cryin' about Whiplash too but they included that 200x head (which looks absolutely stupid on the classics body BTW.)

No.
I think this pretty much sums up TEEMU's opinion

rose-colored-glasses.jpg

WE get it. No matter what Teemu you like the line. If Mattel suddenly decided that the figures did not need any articulation below the waist, you'd be OK with it. or if they decided that all figures would have their accessories molded to their hands instead of having removeable ones, that's good with you too. And apparently, just for disliking a single figure or two because of what we feel are bad design choices means we're not allowed to like the rest of the line. Just because we see the faults that you are willing to accept just so you can have ANY representation of a character Doesn't make your opinion, or our opinion any less valid.

SO PSYCHED!! Decided to check Amazon today since they occasionally have nice MOTUC deals. Snagged a 1st Release Beast Man for $35 shipped. That site may suck for higher-end collectibles, but you never know what you may find in the He-Man department.

Still a few other MOTUC characters on my list, but I'll take care of those later. Lots of other things I need to get ahold of at the moment. Even so, I can't wait for Beastie to arrive! He's the fig that really got me interested in the line, though I could never find him for under $40 by the time I decided to actually buy him.

Making things up I see...how do you know what I am happy with or not?
the line is being made based on the Original Classics and thats what YOU dont get! but in the meantime,we get to hear you and Badvermin's complaining about no extra heads or they look like muppets over and over! Nothing is ever gonna change. We are not getting extra 200x heads unless they make variants based off the 200x line....Your opinion is valid, but complaining about Clawful,Buzz off and Grizzlor makes no sense to me and nothing will change about it,especially when the line is Vintaged based, not 200x based.4 horseman nailed these figures BASED off their Original counterparts...you say their muppets or crap,I say their perfect and wouldnt want the line otherwise

Just trying to figure out why are people collecting the line if they find so much fault in it....in my opinion...One of the Best lines ever!

Making things up I see...how do you know what I am happy with or not?

Same question back at you.

Let me spell it out for you.

Vintage buzz off's head looked like poopy.
Vintage Clawfull's Head Looked like poopy.

The new heads for these characters ALSO look like poopy.

The line is ALL Masters, not just vintage, with a a few re-imaginengs here and ther ( Blonde teela, Mer-man's head. MArzo, ALL of POP.) So stop touting WAAAAAAAAAA IT'S ONLY 80'S !!! STOP DISLIKING WHAT I LIKE WAHAAAHH! I'm getting tired of running in the special Olympics here.

By your logic, i should not buy a single movie masterpiece hot toys figure, Because i dislike how the new preds look.

We get your opinion. Just let us have ours.

because you told me and I am disagreeing :horror

So only select characters are good and select characters are poopy to you? I have yet to see anything poopy in this line other than QC and DR....as Toyguru says...the 200x style is retired.

the arguement here is just beating a dead horse complaining about something your not going to get (200x style heads,or Sculpted heads based upon YOUR approval)

YES! :lol
That's what I've been saying for a while! And yes, i get that it's just my opinion. But I'm allowed to have it, damnit.
As for the 200x style, you're the one here bringing it up. WE all got that they were not planning to use it for now. Perhaps, when they've exhausted every character, they'll go back and use those designs, perhaps not. it's cool, we moved on. A WHILE AGO.

My only complaints with this line.
SOME of the characters Look REALLY dumb. ( meh, it's from the 80's, so i'll deal, but still, a dumb design is a dumb design IMO)
A handful of QC issues.
And King hiss having a what is being described as a Bad choice for a mechanism to swap out upper torsos.

now that we got that Straight :lol....why are you collecting this line then? or are you just picking and choosing characters that you think dont have muppet/poopy heads? :lol

I just think the line has been perfectly done based from the Originals we had as kids...updated to today's standards makes it perfect to me.

Why are you suggesting that a person has to love every figure/character in a line to collect it? :cuckoo:

I was cherry-picking originally. I switched to subscriptions for last year, and just deal with the ones I don't like too much. It's worth it if it means I no longer need to deal with MAtty's White screen of doom.

You dont have to love every character in the line, but its the complaining of about almost every character, that I often read in your posts (not painted good enough, not sculpted right, needs a new head, the original heads suck etc) Makes me wonder why are you are collecting this line at all...this line is giving me updates of the originals and I have no complaints (QC and DR aside) :dunno

Everyone is going to have their opinions about this line and everyone is entitled to do so. I for one have been happy with everything in the line so far.

I know that not all requests will be answered but it's OK for everyone to express their likes and dislikes. I happen to love all of the sculpts so far, even Buzz Off and Clawful. I know there are many that don't like them, and they're entitled to their opinion. There have been things I haven't been happy with like the Sword of Protection being a clone of the Sword of Power and Teela being a clone of the Sorceress (even though it was that way in the early mini comics) but I haven't let that deter me from enjoying the best toy line out there.

I even despise New Adventures but I'll be one that fights for a collector's right to have those figures because they deserve NA as much as I want all MOTU and PoP. So, I say let all the voices be heard in what the fans want for this line, but, let's do it in a manner in which they will actually listen and not blow it off as rambling fanboys.

Here's to many more years of this line's success! Hopefully everyone gets a slice of what they're after.

We are getting a New Adventures Character (ugh! :dump) in the months of Sept-Dec...it will be a Galactic protector....my guesses are Hydron or Flipshot

Wow you'd think this was a Transformer thread or something. I say give Clawful a chance, I didn't care for much of what I saw from Shadow Beast and was debating selling mine, but now that I have him in hand I love it. It's great. I'm sure the head won't change much, in detail But don't judge it until we finally see it.

I don't want to stoke the fire more than it already has been, I just wanted to toss in my 2 cents. They did say this is an update of the original line. If you look at the new Clawful figure there are some hints of the 200x (the color fading on his arms) The problem I have with a 200x head on this body is that it wouldn't look right, much like whiplash, their 200x counter parts are much larger and bulkier than their 80's bodies. It seems goofy to me to put those heads with those stylized designs on bodies modeled after the vintage stuff. I loved both series but I have to say 200x vs. Original MOTU? 80's MOTU wins. But all views are valid. I'm glad there are elements of the 200x series in here, Marzo hands down being the coolest looking figure in the line.

Now I know the **** storm is going to continue so here is a guest mod for the rest of this thread, play nice guys

Regardless of the MOTU references, this should be cut and pasted onto all the other threads on this forum :lecture Wise words i wish we'd all heed before flapping our gums :clap

Explain to me the differences? other than todays' improved modern day sculpts and articulation? I have seen all those just recently (the originals) next to each other...and they look just like the originals but improved/better.I guess I dont see what you guys see....All I see is improved orginals and I have nothing to complain about...and based on the Original,CLAWFUL is perfect! they are improved copies of the Originals

I was thinking of this earlier today, and I think the big difference is the level of detail on the headsculpts.

He-Man still looked like the original He-Man. The difference was that the details in the sculpt were sharper, and the proportions were more realistic. In a nutshell, things like the eyes were more detailed and realistic, and his head wasn't as squat and cartoony.

In Clawful's case, the facial features are left pretty simplified. Don't get me wrong - it's still a cool figure, and much improved on the original. Some of the details are indeed sharper, but I think the main problem is the design of his eyes. Big, googly eyes with black dots for irises look cartoony, there's no two ways about it.

They added detail and made He-Man's eyes look a lot more realistic. Granted, that may be a bit more challenging with an alien/monster type character, but it's not like the 4H haven't been able to do that before.

Pfffft....DC. take it to the DC section.
:slap

Too bad they're not offering the sale price. The store price was $19.99 for the packs, at least it was last month.

That's for series 1 that are in clearance...

as for Bee-man and Mupp-et, it has nothing to do with 200x, and everything to do with wanting it to not look like it was sculpted by people who work at fisher price.

That's too funny!!! :lol!!!
