IF we get an unhelmeted MAA head and the 200x cannon, then I think Snake MAA would be worth while. Right now, no.

I for one really like Horde Prime. He has a great intergalatic look to him.
MOTU had to have a character like this given the title of the brand.

We need god like beings. Especially as we got cosmic warriors like He-Ro and Zodak.

Well, yeah, there's definitely a fairly big DC comics influence on MOTU. Most obviously Zodac is kind of a cross between a Green Lantern and Metron.

Every SINGLE masters characters are god-like....Thats why they are called 'masters' of the universe..the fact that MOTU is based off of Greek Mythology Fantasy,Distorted Truths, and even the Bible (the Giants, offspring of Fallen Angels)...Hybrids like Half Man/Half beast, robot, monster,??? etc (distorted fantasy taken from actual truth and distorted truths)

The Greeks wrote about the gods of ancients (Zeus,Hercules,Hermes, etc the list goes on). They believe these Hybrids actually existed(half man/half god) Bloodlines.Ideas just dont come out of nowhere.I believe the MOTU creation itself was taken from the Myths and legends of the Mythlogical gods/ancients

They might have god-like power but despite being called "Masters of the Universe" they are mostly tied to a single planet. I think what he was referring to was more universal cosmic characters with more of a birds eye view of existence. More god-like knowledge wise than power wise.

I never saw He-Man as god like.
He's a mortal man that can and is injured. He's just a really strong dude.

Plus he could never be god like with such human parents (one being from earth).

Non-gods off the top of my head,
Man at arms and his Eternain guards
original Cartoon Teela
Original Cartoon Marleena and Randor

if EVERY Character was Godlike, there would be noo need for He-man.

All teasing aside, I'll agree that SOME characters are godlike, but I'd also say that list is VERY short.

There is some greek mythology influence, the tiniest bit of christian mythology, and several helpings of Conan and lovecraftian mythos

He-man ( a conan, Hercules Hybrid)
Skeletor ( Hades)
Hordak ( Aries )
She-ra ( Red sonya meets Athena)
200x version King Hiss ( a clear Thoth Amon reference, )
Horde Prime has a very lovecraftian feel to him. I get a Hastur vibe from him

The Sorceress as well, though to continue the Greek mythology comparison, she's more like the oracle @ Delphi.

Something else to bear in mind is

Though he calls upon Grayskull for super powers (god-like) and becomes the most powerful man in the universe :dunno

and basically becomes almost unstoppable on a similiar plane as a god

The point I was making,MOTU is definitely GREEK mythology inspired(half man/half creature of some sort)...and the Greek myths has some distorted truths, and while i'll be attacked and laughed at,I believe the Bible as truth, and there are some elements taken from the Bible aswell in MOTU

The key word here is 'man'. "The most powerful MAN in the universe" dude. ;)
By your logic he would be called the most powerful god in the universe.

Also he's not unstoppable if he can be injured by laser blasts and whips (movie) and swords (comics) or a big slap so hard it turns him back into Adam (cartoon). He never defeated Serpos. He needed the Elders (actual gods) to help him.

By all means, see him anyway you like but don't expect many folks to agree with your thinking He-Man is god like. :)

Edit: Teemu, you need to read the book A Hero with a Thousand Faces to see where these stories come from and indeed where the Bible got some of it's stories.

Yeah I was going to say "man" as well. Basically he's a mortal with a fractional power of a god. Not unlike the fearie knights in the Dresden universe… for anyone that reads those.

A lot of the biblical stories, especially old testament have some basis in Egyptian stuff. There's even something to be said for the Jews being a cult of left over followers of Akhenaten (who instituted monotheism in Egypt that was torn down directly after his death). But this ain't a religious studies course. I'd rather point at comics so as to not tread on toes. I just find the origin of religions interesting.

There's no doubt someone like Zodac was heavily based on the New Gods, as mentioned, Metron in particular. They're basically the same dude. Impartial cosmic god-like observers who ride around in space chairs.

This book explains where we get all our heroes, who and what they are and respresent.
All heroes in all religion and stories come from the same place.

Not arguing with you. there definitely is influence from all those sources. i just don't see every character as godlike.

( for the record, the image was targeted at the text in bold, not at your religion. we're all allowed to believe whatever we like in this country. )

From what little you can see of the face on the figure underneath the hood it looks similar to 200x Hordak.

Is that who it is? Or was he called "Horde Prime" in the episode?

It's been a while - I forget.

Yeah it looks Hordaky. Would be cool to finally have more than one character of any given race other than human.
