GI JOE isn't this cool... :monkey3

Well, I can't argue that it isn't as cool TODAY, though Sideshow has thankfully closed the gap a bit.

It was way cooler than MOTU in the '80s though.

I love the oddness of MOTU. The Windraider doesn't really have any weapons, and what good does a big grappling hook do a combat plane?

I guess to "raid" big planes/spacecraft/zeppelins?

You know, fly a bunch of these up to intercept some big aircraft of some sort, shoot your grappling hooks at it, and pull it down.

grappling hooks are very useful:

Yeah but those ships also have two huge guns on them.

DPrime's explanation makes some sort of sense. Odd piratey vehicle for a hero though.

Don't get me wrong, I'm using odd her in a good way. Note the "I love the odd…" portion of my original post. It's a weird vehicle, and that's a good thing.

It was always slated for sale along Swift Wind :dunno

I know, but originally they were both supposed be on sale in October. Matty keeps changing the dates and doesn't give updates, which causes a bunch of figures to be slated for one given month.

All of that detail is sculpted and painted. No stickers :panic:
What an awesome vehicle! Hopefully the Four Horsemen get a shot at the Land Shark.

Yeah that Battle-Ram was done in a very similar style. I have to imagine now they will do that. I mean the Horsemen already did the R&D on that, would be a waste otherwise.

My dream would be that they release NA Skeletor along with the Doomcoptor.

Would seem unlikely but who would have thought we'd see Horde Prime? Based on previous releases I would guess after the second vehicle which I have to imagine will be a high profile Evil Warriors vehicle, we'll get something out of left field. Like Horde Prime, who would have expected to see the Griffon?

yup. all that detail is sculpted and painted on for $45. but Sideshow can't paint 2 eyes looking in the same direction on a $300 statue. it's amazing isn't it??

Sideshow doesn't paint them though, your .50 cents an hour,Chinese slave labor do! :)

I just got my shipping notice for the Hot Toys Mark V from BBTS.

I love that the shipping cost for a 12" figure from BBTS is the same for me as a 6" MOTUC figure from Mattel. It will probably show up in half the time as well.

I was just thinking the same thing. Well, I guess if the rumors of MattyCollector being in serious trouble are true, then hopefully we won't have to deal with them for too much longer.

I still say it's because Mattel expected the Mattycollector business to maintain the same profit margins as their retail business which is unrealistic at best. I have no idea if it's true and have nothing to back it up. It's just a hypothesis based on their seemingly ridiculous pricing.

I read that on the Org....I am guessing Mattel could move it to their own website starting in 2013,and kissing DR good bye! We'll see though

ToyGuru admitted (as revealed way back) that shipping costs also paid for storage in the warehouse. Its a hidden shipping cost passed on to the customer.

BBTS is right on the money when shipping their items cost wise, but Matty charges 10.55 to ship 1-2 figures UPS?? it doesn't compute. But it makes sense when Toyguru revealed that tidbit.Of course,no one says anything at the Cons at the Q&A...

Yeah, I'm aware of them doing that. It just is a constant thorn in my side.

It's why I always include the cost of shipping in the price of the figure when talking about how much MOTUC costs. 33% of the cost is shipping if you're just buying one figure. It's so wacky.
