the box art better be pretty darn spiffy along with an amazing playset, because if its not, fans will never trust mattel ever again.

Have you guys put in dimensions and weight in to a calculator on Fedex or UPS? How different is it? I bet you it isn't as different as you'd think.

During Power-Con Rudy Obrero said he'll be delighted to do the box art for the new Castle. I asked TG later and he said it's a given that Rudy would do the art!!

First, we don't know the packed dims this will have... second, Mattel said they would offer DHL for international buyers...

good to know!

Okay, so DHL. We have an idea on the dimensions so just put that in to the calculator and put in, say 10 lbs. What does that come up with?

Well I PO'd mine, I went with USPS Ground, which I know I'll probably regret but a $25 difference is a big deal to me. As silly as that probably sounds. I just hope this still happens, since Matty is now saying they need the minimum met by Nov 10 or w/e. I want this, I want Snake Mountain, and I want all of vintage teams complete.

if you put the maximum size that they'll allow for USPS International Priority then Grayskull would have to be 60lbs to get it up to $200 shipping. BUT it's VERY possible the Grayskull box could be larger than that limit which means it'd have to go another means which means it could get very expensive quickly.

The best hope for International fans is if Mattel can set up an international distribution point (don't they have international distributors? I never understood that...)

I will be dropping a chunk of change on two...almost $600

seems like people are still buying regardless of high shipping

how lovely....apparently the shipping charges have went down dramatically and are charging less...seriously,DR needs to get their **** together

Yep... even on US orders... DR still sucks... 4 years later... :lol

Wow! shipping for one castle should be only $20 and for two, $36 if you use slowgistics

UPS is about $5-6 more

I wonder what DR plans to do here? my shipping cost was $87.85 UPS

#*$!, you're right. My order I placed a few hours ago is $306.22, USPS Ground. Now, with tax and USPS ground it's saying it will cost me $287.86. That's a big difference. Hear me Matty, my wrath is coming, I want a price adjustment!

Reasonable and consistent shipping costs? Consider that expectation "managed"!

Well, you haven't been charged yet. I'd watch what you're charged in December, but there's plenty of time for them to adjust that.

not really...we have till November 10th to get it fixed

trust me,its not a simple task to get DR to cancel your order, because that is what you have to do to get it fixed. You would need to make a whole new order to get the correct shipping.

try calling them, they tell you there is nothing they can do unless you demand a supervisor and then beg some more. Its such a hassle

Hmm, December we're getting charged? I thought it wasn't charging until it shipped, next fall? But yeah, I'll definitely keep my eye on everything. I just don't trust Matty to invoice me one amount then bill me, a year later, a lesser amount. "Shipping went up, you owe more than originally invoiced.". Well, I should have known better, I now have Matty butt hurt.. should have brought vaseline. :dunno

And the issues are already running rampant. Yeah, I'll be passing.

I didn't really have $250 plus shipping worth of trust left in Matty to begin with, but when the initial page went up I thought, just for a moment there, hey, maybe thy are learning and there's hope there yet, so maybe I'll bite after all, at least if the international shipping isn't price gougingly insane. But this already looks like it is turning into a bit of a nightmare, so I think I'll have to stick with my gut feeling and pass on this after all. Just seems like too much of a hassle, and too much of a risk, at least to me as an Aussie collector anyhow.

December 2013. I say that because that was the date that was there when I ordered. December 11 to be exact, I think. But I just looked again and now it seems to just say "late 2013." I mean, I wouldn't trust them either. LOL. But I'm just saying you've got about a year to worry about being charged anything. Plenty of time to have it figured out.

If you're really nervous then I'd call to make sure what they have down for shipping and get it adjusted now, though. I personally am not going to bother, but the difference is also less for me in the US so it's not a priority.

I'm sure this piece will come out superb but They're counting on lot of goodwill on the strength of a drawing or two. Made worse by the suggestion it may or may not come with the listed do-dads.
