she said I wouldn't need to cancel my order,so hopefully they can adjust the shipping on their end

NEW MOTU Classics Castle Grayskull PROTO Pics ToyFair 02/07

Hiya everyone!!
I know, I know... we already have a MOTUC section... but this announcement will surely interest a lot of you, and not just the hardcore MOTU fans...

As some, or most of you know, since 2008 Mattel started the Masters of the Universe Classics collection. Well after all these years, they finally decided to open pre-orders for a NEW fully tooled Castle Grayskull.

Since MOTU is for Mattel a "small" brand nowadays, they decided that the way to make this happen was a pre-order system based on basic concept drawings (B-sheet or blueprints)

The sculpt will be done by non-other than the Four Horsemen, so I'm not worried that it's going to kick-***... Also, these drawings definitely give us a good idea how big and awesome it will be!

So, if you want an amazing Castle Grayskull, arguably one of the MOST iconic playlets, if not the most iconic one from the 80's this is your chance!! Let's make this happen!!!!

It's $250.00 and it's massive, approx. 25”h x 26”w x 28”d
And will have 3 levels and a ton of cool features!!

It's kind of a big deal, really.

It's very likely to be the last, great play set ever. I doubt something of this size, detail and complexity will ever be attempted again.

The shipping rates really blow dic for us Canadians and International customers for this Castle Grayskull..i might have to pass unless i can get it on the secondary market or locally for a bit less but, meh i can live without it i think...i've got my MOTU memories.

I had heard that shipping wasn't that bad for Canadians now. Did you try recently?
Also, that box is amazing. I still remember getting it for Christmas. It was 1984 and I was 5. It seemed so huge back then.

Well, the shipping b/s happening right off the bat certainly didn't help things. I bet a lot of people went "@)#) that!". Good luck getting them back if they're casuals, since they probably won't follow the news and see it's been corrected. Only time will tell. Plus, Matty Collector is one of those few.. annoying sites that charge you tax online, so tax on a $250 purchase, plus shipping brings it to $300 and I can see that turning people away too. $50 is a game changer for people these days.

because uncle sam (IRS) has to get just another piece of the pie (even though you have already been illegally taxed on your income,they want more taxes)

They been pushing this through legislation to have ALL businesses to collect tax for all items purchased over the internet.

just wait till they do away with cash and go completely cashless so you can't avoid a single tax

I think this is appropriate for it's own thread as well... at least until the pre-order goal is met or the deadline passes.

Great looking piece, if I still was into the series $250 for this behemoth would have been a no-brainer

It has been up to each individual taxpayer to report any online purchases made where sales tax was not collected on their personal income tax returns. Obviously most people claim ignorance about this and now state governments are forcing a lot of online businesses to collect the tax for them. It sucks, but we should have already been paying the tax all these years according to the tax laws. How else do you expect your government to keep up with rising pension, healthcare, education, and infrastructure costs?

My thing is that I'd like to see proof that they are sending it to the state and not just pocketing the cash.
