I for one am seriously reconsidering getting a 2014 sub as it getting too expensive.

Not only that but the core characters are pretty much done, and as much as I like the concept ones, and would love to see more NA classizied, I think we'll end up seeing more POP figures...
Also, here's an idea...
I know some people have said that the big announcement @ ToyFair will be a Filmation sub... but I think it might end up being a POP sub...

I heard the bonus extra figures are Filmation characters, whether they show up as singles or two-packs..we will see Sunday

If it's a POP sub, that will make my decision on getting it very easy.

I not even sure I want to open and display Netossa.

There won't be an added Sub...it will be additional sku's to go with their early access program (which was promoted during the sub sale)

Toyguru already shot down the idea of a POP sub,as MANY like to remind others that MOTU classics encompasses All things MOTU,POP,NA etc in the line....

it will be additional Filmation characters

If Matty does a subsription for NAOH, POP, or Filmation for 2014, then they might as well call 2013 their last year. they'd be better off sticking with the original characters from the 80's line and just putting a few of those characters in here and there.

I'm telling you; watch and see what happens, if that's what they do for 2014.

they won't do seperate Subs in '14.....it will be the usual monthly (if we even get a 2014 Sub, sales pending)

Crap!! Matty is going to tease us all week long!!

Here's a close-up look at the sculpt for Castle Grayskull! We'll post a new one each day until the big reveal at NYTF on Sunday!

It won't?
You kept saying it was for weeks and weeks non-stop... what gives? :dunno

I didn't say it was for certain as far as extra subs go (keep in mind I said no extra subs for 2014 ;))....but I did Say filmation figures over and over because you don't want to listen

I've been looking for all the MOTUC figures that appeared in the first episode. The ones i've found hard to get are:
- Teela
- Sorceress
- Tri-Klops
- Beastman

I found one guy who had all 4, but he quoted me about $150 each for Teela and Sorceress, and about $50 for the henchmen!

Why they hell are these 4 so damn expensive when others like He-Man, Man-At-Arms, Skeletor, She-Ra etc are all still at acceptable prices under the $40 mark?

Surely he's asking for too much???

According to ToyGuru there was a mishap* in the factory that caused those four figures to often have precious jewels and/or gold nuggets in the torso section. Supposedly you have to boil them in TMNT Slime for 5 min to get them to pop out, although all I've ever found are some Red Owl Pop bottle caps and a free sample of limescale remover. One guy on the .Org found a 1973 AMC Gremlin with a tub of butter inside.

*[Edit] Story removed due to gruesome graphic content involving waterfowl.

[Double Edit] I'm starting to suspect I might need better ventilation where I been using primer.

those 4 figures are now in the RARE category....along with Fisto and Shadow Weaver

Teela,Sorceress and Fisto are 100% history and the only way your getting those are on the secondary market (which the demand for those are getting higher prices)

Beastman and Tri-klops are not as rare, but they are harder to get now

He man, skeletor and she ra are perpetually available as of sometime last year, and man at arms had a recent restock. The only time I remember seeing teela restocked was two Black Fridays ago, and it went very quickly.

Toyguru just chimed in:

I think you guys might be reading into things. We have a 2014 line on paper, it depends on hitting the min number of subs if it happens.

So,basically the 2014 Sub will be pending on making the sales quota...but with all the complaining about costs etc,I am not sure there is enough dedicated fans to buy enough subs...

I am looking as 2013 as the last year, with the hope of that whatever is shown at SDCC,we'll get those too as exclusives somewhere.....reality is...2014 may be a much harder sale than '13 regardless of who is in the Sub..

we'll see

He says basically the same thing every year. People need to chill out. From what I've heard, things are not as glum as people seem to think for whatever reason.

No, but prices ARE a factor, which may not get us a MOTU Classics line in 2014 ...that is reality

I am sick of buying figures I don't really want for high prices and trying to sell them for cost is almost impossible (example-Star sisters,Netossa and Most POP/NA/200x)

Fighting Foe Men will be another set that will be hard to move which we are forced to buy

You can almost always easily guess what will be hard to sell/easy to buy on the aftermarket.

I have said before, I've always felt the subscription is Mattel's way of trying to apply the same business model they use with retailers on their direct sale customers. They kinda strongarm you into buying a bunch of stuff unseen or that you don't want and then its's up to you to deal with it.
