Oh believe me I know WHY they look so matte on the photos, I make a living as an artist and product designer so I often deal with the same issue. I was just curious if anyone here had tried it yet. I have a Mo-Larr coming in this week, he seems like a good candidate for a test run. I will keep you posted!

Oh, sorry, now I feel foolish.

Yeah, I'd love to know if matte sealer would have any positive effect. My He-Man looks like he has oily skin :rotfl

I always preferred the prototype look to the actual figure. I think the majority do. They're just much more vibrant looking and the colors really pop.

I tried it, but the spray I used wasn't nearly as flat as I wanted. Since I love the flat but bright paint on prototypes, I end up repainting 90% of my toys to get the same look.

The paint that all of the major toy sculptors (Four Horsemen, Neca, etc) use is a special kind of paint made for animation cels, it's called Cartoon Colour Cel-Vinyl*, it costs more than normal paint, but is IMO the best in the world and is what I paint with 99% of the time.

*Cel-Vinyl COLORS are made with the finest artists pigments available and the highest grade of vinyl acrylic copolymer. Cel-Vinyl COLORS are completely intermixable, non-bleeding, light resistant, dry quickly to a matte finish and are thinned with water. Cel-Vinyl may be removed from brushes with mild soap and water while still wet and when dry may be removed from cels and brushes with isopropyl alcohol. Cel-Vinyl paint is non-hydroscopic and is not affected by wet or dry weather. Cel-Vinyl is waterproof when dry and will not chip, crack or flake.

It would be the ultimate irony if he ends up as Emil's boss!! :panic:

As far as I know he is going to Spin Master.
But even if he ended at Hasbro, he wouldn't be my boss.
People got a very deceiving idea of what a brand manager does in those companies :)
And anyway, I work with the design team at Hasbro, I never had contact with any of the Transformers brand managers, neither my works comes from them :)

Hi Emiliano!

How are you? Nice to have you on board!

Have seen your latest ideas for a signature series and I love all of these concepts. Wouldnt mind to have these in my cabinet one day. Maybe you should take over the free spot at Mattel. :lol :duff

A few shots of Eldor. Really nice figure.

Finally after obsessively watching this line from the sidelines I bit the bullet and have my first figure! Skeletor with the old school mini-comic head (thanks Teemu!) and now I guess Im officially in. The main reason I held off was I didnt want the line to suddenly end like it did when I collected the 200X line leaving me with what I felt was a very incomplete collection. Now because I waited so long Im looking at major price increases, the prices on ebay are crazy so if anyone is selling figures like Beastman or Trapjaw or Optikk at more reasonable prices let me know and I may be interested.

Heck of a time to get started. I got started pretty late myself (end of 2012) and it cost me more than I care to admit to get caught up. I'm only collecting the vintage figures, but those are some of the priciest figures on the secondary market. Hoo boy. I still regret paying as much as I did for some figures like Fisto, but I was caught up in the excitement. Anyway, good luck to you and have fun building your collection.

I'd sell you the whole set up to now (minus wind raider, Castle ,and Wundar) , but you'd have to take the good with the bad and it would cost a few thousand.
