Sunder looks great! I'm at work, so I can't really compare... do you think it's possible they could use his release to get more Troopers out in the world? Maybe release some alt parts to make a Trooper?

Oh man I didn't see that. Yeah that looks fantastic. My only worry is the chest armor maybe being a bit too bulky.

She was made up. There's no way to tell if she was made JUST to sell an action figure. That's just something you're assuming. But, I don't think it's a bad assumption. Either way, she's a pretty demanded character so if it was all some ploy on Mattel's part to get people excited about getting new action figures made (which would not be all that surprising since... well.... there's a pretty long tradition of that in MOTU :) ) then it worked.

I, personally, just found the idea funny that it was somehow a negative because making up characters to sell toys is what Mattel does! Some of them I could do with out (Skeleteen... assuming he does get made at some point) but some I'm happy about (Despara, Dare) but either way I don't begrudge any their existence. From 2015 on, pretty much anything we get is gravvy to me.

You only interpreted what I said as negative. I never expressed my feelings for Despara one way or another. I merely said she was made up. Leave it to the usual suspects to come in here and play the semantic games. LOL! She was "made up" . Why she was made up is irrelevant, bottom line is Despara was recently created AKA "made up" people can disagree all they want, and they can say, "Well, all figures were made up" but it's a pretty weak comeback. And yes, everything I say is my opinion unless specified that it's based on fact, but thanks for reminding me that I was "ASSUMING" she was made just to sell toys. How about this? She was also created to sell comic books, is that better?

Almost a contradiction there in bold aye?

My god dude. Talk about putting words in someone else's mouth. You are reading so much into anything I say it's absurd. Man I don't even know what to say.

Kinda like when someone uses the term, "made up" for a toy/comic character, and then beating and beating and beating the horse until it's a bloody pulp because they want to know why it was said, even after it was explained, and then beating it some more because the explanation wasn't good enough?

Wow! Talk about being hypocritical.

Oh, the way you phrased it seemed designed to disparage it. "Made up" didn't read like a neutral statement versus "created." Not that I particularly cared, it just seemed a funny (as in amusing, not troubling or worth a lot of back and forth) comment on it. So that's why I made the comment. Because I thought it was funny. I was not outraged. So it wasn't a comeback. It was just an amusing little note.

Also, the bold isn't a contradiction. Making up characters to sell toys is what Mattel does. But the creation of Despara is a bit murky, at least from what I know. It's kind of hard to tell where a lot of the creation for the comic came from. Did it come from the internal Mattel story group? A lot of elements seem to have, from what I've read in interviews. So it's entirely possible it was all Mattel's creation and stage-setting for life beyond the vintage line. But it's also possible it was a creation of the writer entirely to serve the story and do something interesting with She-Ra's backstory that hadn't really been done before.

Oh man I didn't see that. Yeah that looks fantastic. My only worry is the chest armor maybe being a bit too bulky.

It is pretty bulky, although it kind of works for the character, too.

If you use words that have some specific meaning to you that is not their generally accepted meaning you're going to confuse people. That's all that happened with me. No one knows that you use "made up" to describe anything that was recently designed or created. I still don't understand why you even use that phrase. Why not use something that's more readily understood by anyone. Like "new" or even something with more meaning like in this case "modern MOTU comic characters".

I asked you four times what you meant by made up. You didn't explain what you meant until the third time. My forth question was after you posted and I didn't see it before I posted. You didn't explain yourself right away. You just kept insisting she was "made up" and I didn't understand what you meant so I kept inquiring further.

I feel like you have been been generally nasty to me. I don't feel like I have been anything but reasonable and don't know what I did to incur that. Sorry if I somehow offended you, I don't know how I did and if you could explain where I went wrong I'd appreciate it. If not that's okay too. I apologize regardless.

Yeah definitely agreed. I'm just worried he won't be able to put his arms down far enough. Which is a problem some of the figures with the bulkier armor pieces have.

The place it looks the worst is around the waist area. It does feel a bit over-sized overall. Hopefully it's still an early look at it, since it's not painted, and it's just over-sized to account for eventual shrinkage or something.

So let's say, my goal was to disparage it, and I expressed my absolute hatred for the character AND the figure. So what? It's just a harmless opinion. You see, differing opinions are allowed on this forum. I know on other forums they are forbidden and everyone must agree on everything or else, but it's not like that here.

Oh and, Forgive me as a roll on the floor laughing at this one. "made up" and "created" are that different? And one is more offensive than the other? WOW, just wow! LOL!

To be honest if it looks like that I'll still be happy. Not 100% perfect but nothing ever is and the overall package looks pretty great.

You always seem very bothered by this. Like disproportionally so. If there BS and shenanigans going on why should folks not need to know?

Not saying weather there is or there isn't. But you are very quick to clamp down on this topic.

I'm not bothered, I just find it ridiculous when people bring up the Team Val or Team Emiliano...
We don't have to take sides, but some people like to keep it going as if it's somehow relevant to MOTU...

And if there's stuff going on behind the scenes we only get parts of the story, or half truths... I'm not going to take sides on a TOY line based on that... It's just silly.

That's all!

Oh, the IRONY! :rotfl

Question for you guys that the recent comments have brought up. Although I don't think most people LOVE the DC He-man and Skeletor... what if they made MOTUC figures from the Sideshow statue designs? Would you be for that or against it? I'm talking about... 2017 or 2018. I think most of us will have had our fill of He-man and Skeletor variants after this year! :D

I'm not too crazy about SS's He-Man, I like Skeletor a bit more.
I'd rather have the movie versions than these...

My god dude. Talk about putting words in someone else's mouth. You are reading so much into anything I say it's absurd. Man I don't even know what to say.
Don't even try... It's useless...

Oh man I didn't see that. Yeah that looks fantastic. My only worry is the chest armor maybe being a bit too bulky.

Yeah I can see that, it's still pretty awesome!

Wow. Okay. I didn't say it mattered if you wanted to disparage with it. I would just disagree. Someone disagreeing with you doesn't mean they are trying to squash your opinions. Seriously... like... pay attention to what people are saying instead of trying to ascribe some agenda to what they are saying. Good lord. LOL.

And yes, different words has different connotations. It's just how I perceived it. But since I perceived it wrong it means we don't even disagree, apparently. LOL. I'm glad you're laughing about it. I find your message very amusing as well.

To be honest if it looks like that I'll still be happy. Not 100% perfect but nothing ever is and the overall package looks pretty great.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I wouldn't hate it by any means. He kind of looks cool, padded up like that. It'd be neat to compare to other figures.

Oh, I'd rather have those too!

Sideshow's Skeletor and even He-Man to a certain extent have that unbalanced look that most of their statues have. It's like they sculpt them from the head down or something. Which if no one knows what I mean by that when you draw a figure from the head down it almost always looks like they're hanging from their head or off balance. It's usually best to start with the point of balance on the figure which depending on the pose is usually somewhere in the torso.

But it must matter if I was trying to disparage it. otherwise you and a few others wouldn't have made it an issue.

You can only disagree if it is proven that I was in fact meaning to disparage the character in question.

"Someone disagreeing with you doesn't mean they are trying to squash your opinions."

Maybe not SQUASH my opinion, but if they disagree, I would like a legitimate reason as to why. In this case there is nothing to disagree with unless you consider someone disagreeing with someone's choice of words, which is pretty pathetic in it's self and is hardly worth discussing in the first place.

"Seriously... like... pay attention to what people are saying instead of trying to ascribe some agenda to what they are saying. Good lord. LOL."

Oh I've been paying close attention, and as I said this all boils down to people being easily offended, and people jumping on the band wagon wanting to start trouble. I refuse to believe that one person on this forum doesn't know what "made up" means.

Huh. That's interesting. I never really got that.

But I was more thinking the straight-up designs as translated into MOTUC toys. I think it's probably too niche, but as far as redesigns of the characters go, I've been surprised by how much I like them. For instance, I'd rather they use those in the comics versus the comic outfits. If we need an updated design, I think it'd be cool if there was one sort of vision for it. That being said, I'm intrigued to see what Rapoza does with the 1/6 figures along those lines, too.

I was just thinking into the future and you KNOW that if MOTUC keeps trucking along they'll want to do new variants of the big two again. The movie versions would be amazing, and it's encouraging they're looking at that again. But if they can't do it, the Sideshow designs would be pretty neat. Especially before the New52 outfits.

I'm not sure how I feel about the SS designs. I wouldn't mind seeing what they look like as MOTUC figures though.

In regards to the falling thing their Cap PF pretty clearly illustrates it. Some of them look okay from one angle but all unbalanced from others. Neither MOTU statue is terrible in that regard. They definitely have done worse.

Oh, I see what you're saying. Interesting. In a way I feel like it kind of gives it more of a sense of motion versus a static, grounded pose though. Still, it's interesting.

My god man, what the hell is wrong with this place lately? :)

You mean it wasn't always like this?:duh

Do you figure that helmet will be removable? Would be a nice change.
