Despara: I believe is a made up Adora variant for the modern MOTU comic books

Lord Masque: From Filmation's He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

Vultak: From Filmation's She-Ra Princess of Power

Darius: Not sure if he's in the New Adventures Cartoon, but he's an NA character I believe based on an action figure prototype.

Crita: From the New Adventures of He-Man cartoon

General Sunder: From Filmation's She-Ra Princess of Power

Horde Wraith: Not sure, probably from the MYP 200x cartoon.

Not sure what you mean by "made up" but Despera is indeed from the recent comics and I believe comes from the "Force Captain Adora" concept that appeared in the original PoP cartoon.

The Horde Wraiths you are correct are from the 200x cartoon.

So are you saying that the figure design of Despara is based on some early Filmation concept of Force Captain Adora? That's news to me. I though she was "made up" specifically for the new comic books.

Not at all, I mean the based on the IDEA of Force Captain Adora. I don't get the use of "made up". It seems pointlessly disparaging. These are all made up characters. Why make that distinction?

Well,
I'm not going down the tired, baseless, useless, pointless "Val said-Emiliano said" road... to me that's one of the most ridiculous things to ever happen around MOTU and to it's completely irrelevant to the brand and just an exercise in futility... I won't take either Val's or Emiliano's word on what happens or what they say happens behind the scenes because honestly, none or few of us know the whole story, and we don't need to either.

You always seem very bothered by this. Like disproportionally so. If there BS and shenanigans going on why should folks not need to know?

Not saying weather there is or there isn't. But you are very quick to clamp down on this topic.

Well, all versions of Adora are "made up," so... :)

Awwww. dedguy beat me to it. LOL. For the record, I think Despara is one of the cooler characters to come along. Not just because she looks neat, but because she makes sense in the mythos. I think it make She-Ra's story more powerful.

Force Captain Adora is basically Adora with a bad attitude, under the influence of the brain washing Horde. Despara is essentially a re-imagining and total redesign of the original Force Captain Adora. So yeah, she's "made up", probably for the sole purpose of selling the figure since we already have a TRUE Adora figure. Despara has no ties to anything vintage, and is nothing more than a reboot of an existing vintage character. Maybe I should have been more specific and said, "recently made up by someone at DC and/or Mattel to use for a comic book story".

I really don't understand what you're talking about. It sounds like you just hate anything that's not from the vintage line or cartoons. There's no TRUE anything.

And if she was "made up" for the comics just to sell this figure they're not doing a very good job at it since she was in the comics about two years ago. Usually you want stuff like that to happen reasonably close together.

Despera is the club exclusive yes?

Watching Pixel Dan's Mattel Walk through we learn that the Laser figure do indeed light up. :)

She is! And yes, I'm SO happy about the LL figures. I really would have never figured they'd do that.

Yeah well, I figured you wouldn't get it. Too many of you guys on here are so easily offended and pretty much see ONLY what you want to see.

Is it really that hard to grasp that Despara is a friggin reboot of Adora, and that she was "made up" to use in a new comic book story AND to sell as an action figure? Some of you only interpret things as someone hating things. To get all bent out of shape because I used the term "made up" boggles my mind. :)

She was made up. There's no way to tell if she was made JUST to sell an action figure. That's just something you're assuming. But, I don't think it's a bad assumption. Either way, she's a pretty demanded character so if it was all some ploy on Mattel's part to get people excited about getting new action figures made (which would not be all that surprising since... well.... there's a pretty long tradition of that in MOTU :) ) then it worked.

I, personally, just found the idea funny that it was somehow a negative because making up characters to sell toys is what Mattel does! Some of them I could do with out (Skeleteen... assuming he does get made at some point) but some I'm happy about (Despara, Dare) but either way I don't begrudge any their existence. From 2015 on, pretty much anything we get is gravvy to me.

That sounds like an opinion to me. Just like there is no TRUE anything as you say, there are no TRUE rules for how long a comic book character can exist before it is made into an action figure.

Let's not BS each other. You think I'm belittling anything from the New 52 style, or the Son of Neitlich mini comics, your offended and this is your way of venting. I get it. I accept it. Do you want an apology? ok, I'm sorry I used the term "made up" to describe a modern day MOTU character variant.

You're the one who seems offended. I'm just confused as to why the wording "made up" seems so important to you. All of these characters and toys are "made up" why the distinction? Like I am seriously baffled by what you are trying to say by using that phrasing. It's the only reason I brought it up, it's not because I felt somehow besmirched.

Question for you guys that the recent comments have brought up. Although I don't think most people LOVE the DC He-man and Skeletor... what if they made MOTUC figures from the Sideshow statue designs? Would you be for that or against it? I'm talking about... 2017 or 2018. I think most of us will have had our fill of He-man and Skeletor variants after this year! :D

My god dude. Talk about putting words in someone else's mouth. You are reading so much into anything I say it's absurd. Man I don't even know what to say.

Your just trolling and you know it. Why not give it a rest and move on?

Oh my god man… I am NOT trolling. I went back and re-read all my posts to make sure I wasn't saying anything that could be considered inflammatory and I don't see anything like that. I just tried to clarify what you said to help another poster and then **** just spiraled into madness. I have no idea what happened.
