I know I'm biased, but I still firmly believe the 80's were the best time for action figures... so many great things came out. None of it had to make sense, just had to look cool and be fun to play with :rock

No need to believe, this is 100% truth!!

Transformers, Thundercats, He-Man, Robotech, Voltron, GI Joe, Turtles, just to name a few. The 80's >>>>> any other era. :rock

The 80's totally rocked it. The crap today is either a shotty remake of what we had or total nonsense to start. Items like the MOTU Classics are a rarity that actually match the stuff from the 80's.

truth.

my brother was a huge he-man fan when we were little. he had he-man stuff like i had star wars and gi joe. he came over the other night and saw the new figures and flipped. he doesn't collect toys or anything now but he couldn't stop messing with them or get over how faithful they were to the originals

Totally agree. There was so much variety and the figures were fun and creative. These days the figures are cheap crap and it's just the high end figures geared towards an older crowd that sells and looks good now. The 80's had pure originality and fresh, new ideas.

I could just stare at those 80's catalog pages all day and be happy. Thanks Khev!! I had almost every MOTU figure, playset, and vehicle/animal.

true. but looking at the MOTU vintage figures i'd have to say they look very crappy to me now, but when i was a kid i thought they were the best thing that ever happened to me.

I had the bed sheets and that He-man electric toothbrush. That toothbrush rocked!

Same here. Loved that toothbrush holder. Can still remember the saying: "I'm He-Man, I'm strong as can be and I brush my teeth with regularity. Once in the morning and once at bedtime and after each meal so my teeth will shine. You'll remember this saying if you rehearse and you'll be like the Masters of the Universe". Yes, sad I know, but it'll never leave my mind.

Also, I use to drool over those JC Penny and Sears catalogs. I'd beg my parents to get me the various figures, vehicles and playsets for Christmas, birthday, Easter, St. Patricks Day and any other occasions I could try for.
