Mattel asking that retailers remove their pre-order pages is one thing, but the Fwoosh removing the thread discussing it is RIDICULOUS. What in the hell are they doing? Did they seriously do that under pressure from Mattel or are they sucking up to them? I'm actually shocked and angry over this. RIDICULOUS.

I don't frequent the Fwoosh, but I suspect that it is in their interest to do what Matty demands. They get early information and special deals (like the Gleek giveaway last year). Though they are one of the biggest cheap-o figure toy forums around, they probably can't afford to incur Matty's wrath. That line is really the driving force behind that site, from the way I understand it.

you mean you guys are just now figuring out that Fwoosh are a bunch of cluster NAZI suck *****? Mattel has been dabbleing in public oinion mind control for years now & enlist Fwoosh to do much of their dirty work.

why do you guys think I'm always telling you to be on your gaurd for corperations & "ringer forum members spies" trying to brain wash you with jedi mind tricks.

I guess that sometimes speculation about this type of stuff can really set a high expectation that when it comes out it can be a real let down. I figure it's just fun speculation and shouldn't really be taken too seriously.

One good thing about this whole shut down thing is knowing the "powers that be" actually do look around these posts.

If Mattel would send me freee stuff, I'd lock this thread! :lol

Say it aint so, Joe!!! :monkey2:monkey2
Boooooo:pfft:

Yeah, I bet they do bend over for free swag, which is why their site is so fan driven, but it is something rather underhanded about it. It's too bad that things have to be that way. Sure the sites are "private" funding wise, but they also serve as a sort of guerilla type media for/by the people. When they have to start to bow to their "corporate handlers" for the next preview and/or free figures, the objective open forum just dies. :gah:

Well, its nothing new for those chumps over there. They did the same thing for Jesse Falcon and Toy Biz when Marvel Legends was all the craze. And of course you would see them, like you see em now with Scott, at SDCC hanging on his every word and waiting with baited breath for him to tell em some secret that they get to know for 6 or more months before everyone else. But as soon as someone else lets the cat out of the bag, be it Amazon, Walmart, another website or even Ebay :horror, then they wont even so much as confirm it as not to anger their corporate handlers. And now, in this case, they took it one step further by even disallowing the conversation to take place in their presence.

Its also stupid because its Mattels own fault. They force the etailers to buy product WAYYYY in advance if they want to get the solid character cases and now they are all PO'ed cause the same etailers listed em so they could secure sales for em. That's just stupid. "You can place an order for em, but you can't take pre-orders for em." :huh

Finally Matty threw up pics on their collector site for wave 15. Quick thoughts:

Starman: making two equally relevant iterations and making them completely unique was a good choice, Mattel.

Golden Pharoah: Meh. Meeeeehh. So glad SP is almost done.

SC Batman: I like it. A lot more than I thought I would. If they made this version I bet the GL one isn't far on the horizon.

OMAC: Head looks way too big, I'm hoping that they fix.

Raven: The cape looks wired up just like daddy's. A smart move if I'm right.

Martian Manhunter: I think the pointy head is a dumb variant, but we'll see.

J'emm, Son of Saturn: Hopefully this means we're getting more Morrison JLA characters.

Validus: Don't really know much aboiut him, but I keep hearing he's too small. Big apelike alien with an exposed brain for me=WIN.

MM is the only must have of that wave, but I'll get Batman too. I can't help getting a Sinestro Corp member, even if it has no reason to exist.

I'm very interested in Martian Manhunter and Raven, but I'll probably get the whole wave anyhow. That's what I've been doing so far.

GA Starman and Manhunter shall be mine. Weird that they're doing Validus, though. Still not a Legion member in sight. . .

That Batman looks silly. Like one of those old Kenner "Aqua Attack" Batman figures or something.

I'll get all of them like usual. Starman will be a good addition to the JSA lineup. OMAC's head is a bit big making him my least favorite. Maybe having Validus as the CnC figure marks the beginning of the Legion members.

I agree that the Kenner figure looks stupid, but Batman as a Sinestro? That's cool in my book. Almost reminds me of one of those 'Elseworlds' they used to do that I thought were awesome as a kid. To each their own. And all of you who are naysaying SC Bats, just remember you need him to make Validus cus Pharoah's got the stand...

That headsculpt is nice. I just hope it transitions to the actual production figure (unlike Guy Gardner).
