Shocked at 38 his legs held up. I thought the later rounds Pac would start getting him but He actual had more success early on.

I enjoyed the fight, I have no clue who actually has a chance at beating Floyd for his last fight though, Lucas Matthysse maybe?

Father Time beats all fighters. Just a matter of time...

I could've believe how boring that fight was. Can't take anything away from mayweather, but he's a boring fighter, always has been. Pac was so disappointing, he didn't go after him at all in the later rounds. Did his corner seriously think he was ahead? The only good fight was with that Russian guy.

Yup, I honestly thought he would catch up with Floyd in this fight, but turns out it was Manny that looked like the older fighter.

I think if Floyd decides to retire after his next fight, then he can definitely retire undefeated, but if he tries to beat Marciano's record, he might suffer the same fate as Larry Holmes.

This is one of the major things Roach has always lacked as a trainer, he doesn't get emotional when he's in the corner, trainers like Teddy Atlas and the late great Emmanuel Steward would have been screaming at Manny that he needs a knock out.

He could easily beat that record. He is streets ahead of anyone out there even at 38. I was hoping Floyd wouldnt give Manny a boxing lesson but had a feeling he would and he did just that. I really thought Manny would have caused more problems but he got schooled in there by a masterclass.

I just dont see anyone troubling him now.

On the one hand, I think Manny has just been just one of the best guys in boxing, not just a great fighter and entertaining personality but a national treasure. On the other hand, Mayweather is brilliant at what he does and to see a fighter retire as an undefeated champion will be a rare and unique legacy. It's just a shame that it has to be that wife-beating arrogant, loud mouth, grossly overpaid fighter. But that's what these more brutal sport often attract. Going into the fight and seeing how much bigger Floyd was, and the fact that PacMan had lost 3 of his last 6, I figured Mayweather would win it unless Manny caught him with something unexpected. I didn't watch the PPV but will catch the replays soon enough. You can't take anything away from Mayweather. He got the job done in convincing fashion. Both fighters are past their prime. In younger years I think Manny would have likely taken him apart. Mayweather's experience has paid off handsomely for him in the later years. At the end of the day both fighters are going home with $100M+. PacMan can retire without regrets. If Mayweather wants to do one more fight to get to 50-0 so be it. Just remember Tyson-Douglas before you climb into the ring.

:exactly:

If Money Mayweather wants to make all time money, he can bet his bank on his next opponent and take a dive for the ages. :lol

I watch a ton of boxing and have for many years and congrats Mayweather, now hurry up and get that record and retire and take your defensive boxing with you. Your dad couldn't even fire you up to do anything more than you've always done...your dad understood the importance of the fight but you are a turtle boxer (a master no doubt) and couldn't make it a Sugar Ray Leonard-Duran fight or the other greats. You are a master at defense and very smart boxer, arguable the best at that, yes but when you retire you won't be in the masses' memory as a great...your name will be brought up when talking about defense and your undefeated record.

That one fight could have done a lot for boxing to help it but I think it hurt it. Casuals and new people to boxing got on board for this fight and because of Mayweather's style and fear of fighting (more power to him, makes perfect boxing sense and I don't fault him) they probably said, this is boxing/fighting? He is what he is and I understand that, don't get hit and win is the basic name of the game but he will never come to mind as one of the great overall fighters.

So go Mayweather and enjoy your undefeated record and loads of cash but please go because you being a main attraction is not good for boxing. It's not his fault, he is what he is, it's boxing fault for not having enough boxers that can carry boxing on their shoulders like in the past, I'm looking at you heavy weight division.

that fight most def hurt boxing. Nobody will be talking about that fight after next week. That's just how sad that fight was.

This is absolutely me. Never saw a boxing match in my life, but the hype for this fight was impossible to ignore. I thought this fight might be an opportunity to get into boxing and maybe become a fan and watch it regularly. I can say it didn't achieve that for me, and it left me thinking; if this is all boxing has to offer then I can't get into it.

Just my 2 cents.

I find it funny that Mayweather's supporters throw the 48-0 as his claim to be the best ever when NOBODY thinks Marciano (the guy who has the record) is the best ever. I think guys like Sugar Ray Leonard, Hagler and Hearns would beat Floyd to a pulp.

Yea, I agree. While I think if they were in their prime Floyd would have won, Manny did looked like the older fighter last night, he pretty much did nothing in the last 2 rounds.

How many rounds did you guys give Manny by the way? I thought everyone was being a bit harsh, I gave him 4 rounds.

I don't think he's the best ever, but if you break down their credentials, Floyd actually has a far better and more diverse resume, he fought a lot longer than Rocky, and he moved in 5 weight divisions to pretty much beat everyone.

Rocky Marciano has always been one of the most overrated heavyweights in my opinion, he fought nothing but over the hill fighters that even he almost lost to. His 49-0 defines him, I don't think Mayweather's undefeated record defines his career, his skills and credentials do.

Guys like Hagler, Leonard, And Hearns are also a lot bigger than Floyd. Hagler is a middleweight, Leonard retired at super middleweight, and Hearns at light Heavy. I would favor them over Mayweather too, I think Leonard was the greatest fighter of all time actually.

Seems to be quite a lot of Floyd hate but what about Manny ? I would have loved to have seen Manny win but I was pretty disappointed in him. First 3 rounds was always important. Floyd started fast and controlled Manny from the start. Why was Manny trying to hit him with single shots ?? where was the explosive power and pressure ? He would never win the fight against the best defensive counter puncher in boxing that way. So what did he do to change it up ? Not a lot. There wasn't a plan B and he never really took any risks when he needed too as the rounds were flying by. Then to come out and say he thought he won the fight ? are you serious lol ? Then in the post fight press, he said he was injured ? the biggest fight in the history of the sport and he's injured ? If that's the case, he shouldn't have been in there and I feel sorry for all the people that paid huge sums of money to see it.

I gave Manny 2 rounds

For those who didn't see it, a summary of the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight.
