Medicom Boba Fett and a question about Medicom in general

I will say it, I bought a medicom shock trooper from star wars shop. I opened it and went to pose it and I heard a snap, took all the armor off to see. It was broke, brand new figure, kinda pricey. I didn't try to pose anything weird, just moved the arm up and snap! It still holds a pose nice with the snapped shoulder, but s@@@!. I doubt I would buy another ..well maybe..:emperor

As mentioned earlier I had a similar experience, it does deter me from buying a second RAH figure. Till now I haven't got anything else but am considering Darth Maul.

Medi's can be fragile, but, as I posted in some other thread, it also has to do with the fact that the articulation works quite differently from other "bodies".
Be careful when posing Boba Fett and don't force anything.

Medicom Boba and Jango Fett are the 2 best Star Wars figures out of all the companies today.

And not to start a Medicom vs everyone debate, but the average height of a male of all races combined is something like 5'9-5'10. NOT 6' which is what MOST 12" figures are scaled after.

I am tempted to get one as well (Medicom Fett) I just hope Sideshow gets around to it sooner than later. Especially on the Prometheus body...Man that figure is gonna kick butt!!!

True, but there is more to the scale issue of Medicom than just the height. Medicom stuff seems to have more petite overall proportions as well.

The Medicom Fett is awesome, yeah he is kind of short but it's not that big of a deal since he looks great next to Jabba and friends. One of Medicoms best IMO, almost as great as Big Boss aka Naked Snake.

Have you thought about a Marmit Fett ?

They are a great scale for SS and imho look better

No. I didn't know about him and I already ordered. I have seen it since ordering and I think I will be happy with what I purchased, as long as it's not broken that is. I really like the way Medicom did the helmet on this one.

I'm really tempted to get Jango Fett as well but I will wait until I get Boba in hand before I make a decision.

Some of these stories are kinda scary. You would think that for the price the figure would be more durable.

Medicom figures tend to have very tight joints, especially at the hip. Just make sure you take the time to work the joints slowly until they free up a little and you should be fine.

You guys are makin me want to get a jango stop it. IM is coming soon.

DO IT!!!

I picked up a nude Medicom figure on ebaY to replace one of my Sideshow figures with. Needless to say it arrived broken, the shaft that holds the left leg to the buttock snapped during shipping (shipper just shipped it in a manila envelope from HK...go figure). While I was bent that it was broken, it really did give me great insight as to just how I can and can't pose my Medicom Star Wars figures. The two most common breaks occur when people try to move the legs back and the odd arm back in. Like the Otaku, there's no backward movement for the legs. Trying to force them backwards will result a break like the one I saw when mine arrived. And most times Medicom ships the figure with an arm's shoulder upside down resulting in the figure's one arm sticking out a bit farther than the other. Trying to push it to the body without rotating it first into the correct position snaps it. 'course it doesn't help that the plastic's extremely cheap.

always loved boba fett as a character and i own the medi, marmit, and hasbro.......each have their faults but each has their strengths as well if that makes sense (well not hasbro other than the price..:D). i like all of them but if i absolutely had to keep only one it would be the marmit.

Actually, I cut up the Hasbro one up and put it on one of the super-posable Hasbro GI Joe bodies. Turned out much better than that funky body they initially put him on and now it scores all those cool Boba poses.

Don't waste your $$$. The Sideshow one is 100% better. I bought the Medicom Maul thinking the smaller scale would be perfect with my SS figures as their Maul was a little too tall for my tastes. Unfortunately, he's just a disaster. The clothes are cheap, the figure itself is far too skinny and has a neck about an inch long. Also, as with most of their likenesses, it doesn't really look like Park, but more like the Gyro Captain from The Road Warrior.

I'd go for it. After Maul, I didn't want to pick up anymore Medicom figures but scored a $100 gift card from Sideshow and picked Jango up anyway. The nose on Medicom's is a real honker and a little too big to look like Morrison (this is one area where surprisingly, Hasbro kicked @$$ with their likeness), but with the helmet on, he's absolutely a blast to pose. The rockets on the sides of the jet pack keep falling off though and you really have to be careful keeping the helmet on as the nose tends to dent the helmet a bit when seated correctly. Add to that the fact that he's a good 1/2 inch shorter than the Sideshow figs, and although the actor was shorter than most of the other actors, he still looks awkward (like a boy next to a man) when posing with most of them. I went for the pose with him engaging Mace Windu like he did on Genosha. The shorter size is less notable with him being a small distance from Mace. I don't know if he's worth dropping $150 on, but I'm glad I got him.

Medicom bodies do allow backward movement of the legs. U have to hold the hold butt cheek and just push it back.
Their arms are manufactured differently and requires more care on how to pose it properly, especially more so on the shoulders.

You're right. It worked but when I was done trying it, the other leg on my blank fell off. Same issue.... cracked stem. :rotfl

I'm looking at picking up a Medicom Boba Fett. Now, I'm new to the collecting game and I don't have much. In fact I only have two figures right now and a lot of pre-orders. All of my stuff is HT or SS.

I have read that Medicom figures are in a smaller scale. How is that possible? Isn't it to scale or not to scale? Will the smaller scale fit in with the HT and SS stuff?

How is the Medicom Boba Fett? I don't have any experience with their figures? Is it good quality? I's it a buy?
got him off here a while back and i gotta say medicom is the way to go... for the most part, anyway.
the scale thing is an issue for taller-than-average-characters (vader, alien, etc) but anyone else is fine.
they're so meticulous about accuracy, you gotta see it in person to believe it. boba even has little straps on his back to hold his jetpack on instead of cheap pegs/slots. not to mention superior articulation.

on a related note... i still have a list of who i need down there in my sig... hint, hint, everybody.
