I'm too new to the hobby to even understand the question.

it's the type of body used by Medicom for their Real Action Hero (RAH) line and one of the easiest to break if you're not careful:

It breaks even if you are careful.:lol

I bought a repalcement piece for my broken Boba Fett. Cost me S$50, thats about US$33.

Edit: I didn't mention that my replacement piece was actually refering to just the plain body. A brand new Boba Fett would have costed many times that amount. :)

Yup. That's what I don't get. For such a pricey piece, it seems like they used the cheapest quality plastic they could find to maximize profits. Not only that, but the design is flawed as well. The positions on the torso that they decided to use as the stress points for the poseability of the arms and legs, when added to the cheap quality of the plastic add to it's potential breakability. It is for that reason that my Medis are treated like mini statues and not the action figures they're supposed to be.

I am also on the fence concerning buying this figure. My local shop has had him for months, every time I go in, that figure seems to call my name...I want to get him, but the stories I have read about broken joints out of the box and the overly fragile body give me great concern. Does anyone have any "out of the box" pics they could post?
