Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread
really cool pictures man, any mods to him? looks like that might be a DX's belt?
And totally agree. This fig is mint.
Did Medicom use all rubber on the suit like HT or rubber over cloth?
All i really did was repaint his face and belt (it is medis not DX, the medi belt is a more accurate sculpt than the original hot toys one, i have no dx parts). I also cracked open the suit and unstuffed his pants a bit and sorted the ab fold i had on mine (which is now gone).
The suit IS all rubber, but its a stiffer material than the original HT which was a super soft flexible rubber, but prone to tackiness and picking up lint and also couldn't hold the paint decos (the carbon fiber areas on my original wore off). It's pretty stiff, and his legs are limited, both by the stiffness and the way it folds if you try to pose him, since the body underlying is thin and padded with stuffing to fill out the suit it folds oddly when you try to pose him in extreme poses.
That with the fact the upper body is glued to the lower body of the suit you don't get as much poseability as the hot toys but all i know is the original i don't know how the DX is.
Look is the most important feature to me in the end, playability is nice, but how much do you play with your figures, how much do you do extreme poses? I personally always end up posing them a certain basic way and displaying them, and so the look has to be there or its not worth the money.
While the DX has a glut of accessories, all of which you'd never use unless you displayed two separate figures, it does not have a face sculpt that comes near the accuracy of Medi's with some proper paint, and the overall body looks better to me despite some mistakes. So his overall look is more accurate than HT's original or DX, to me at least. I love hot toys, i'd probably love to have a DX but i can't sling the money for htem now and i didnt have the money for him when he came out, so i was happy with this one.
