Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

I wouldn't hold my breath. They'll probably be more interested in concentrating on the new suit and whatever other figure-worthy characters the movie has to offer like Bane and Catwoman.

I just arranged a trade for this figure, and I'm pretty excited. I've had the Hot Toys DX-01 Joker for a while now but missed out on the DX-02 Batman when it was still reasonably priced. Everything I'm hearing suggests this is a better figure anyway.

The only thing your giving up is some accessories. So why not? especially if its 1/3 the price, and a better looking figure.

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

I am still thinking about buying one... However I really hope for a rerelease with DKR... What are the chances for that comming true?

chances are high, medicom and hot toys re-released the OC suit.... i figure this suit is gonna be in TDKR too.

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

If it is really that good, just try to get the sticky gun. Its really a nice piece.

I was thinking about it but i would want a BW head and dx backpack to pose him with it :rotfl. i want to get a custom cape. problem is, i dont know the guy that sells them on here.

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

really cool pictures man, any mods to him? looks like that might be a DX's belt?
And totally agree. This fig is mint.

Did Medicom use all rubber on the suit like HT or rubber over cloth?

All i really did was repaint his face and belt (it is medis not DX, the medi belt is a more accurate sculpt than the original hot toys one, i have no dx parts). I also cracked open the suit and unstuffed his pants a bit and sorted the ab fold i had on mine (which is now gone).

The suit IS all rubber, but its a stiffer material than the original HT which was a super soft flexible rubber, but prone to tackiness and picking up lint and also couldn't hold the paint decos (the carbon fiber areas on my original wore off). It's pretty stiff, and his legs are limited, both by the stiffness and the way it folds if you try to pose him, since the body underlying is thin and padded with stuffing to fill out the suit it folds oddly when you try to pose him in extreme poses.

That with the fact the upper body is glued to the lower body of the suit you don't get as much poseability as the hot toys but all i know is the original i don't know how the DX is.

Look is the most important feature to me in the end, playability is nice, but how much do you play with your figures, how much do you do extreme poses? I personally always end up posing them a certain basic way and displaying them, and so the look has to be there or its not worth the money.

While the DX has a glut of accessories, all of which you'd never use unless you displayed two separate figures, it does not have a face sculpt that comes near the accuracy of Medi's with some proper paint, and the overall body looks better to me despite some mistakes. So his overall look is more accurate than HT's original or DX, to me at least. I love hot toys, i'd probably love to have a DX but i can't sling the money for htem now and i didnt have the money for him when he came out, so i was happy with this one.

For me it's Head and Arms to the Medi, the rest to the DX. Only by a little though. I know a few people agree with this and that's why the 'medix' was created! That said the medi head does need modifying!

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

Decided to take some pics of bats since this thread popped up again. I still stand by the fact that this one has the best face sculpt of all the ones available and to me is still the best overall looking figure:

I like that look with the batarang. I never knew how well the hands held those. Though I think you've used a Hot Toys batarang as it's bigger and sits better in the hand than the smaller Medicom version.

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

They didn't use rubber at all. They used plastic armor pieces atachted onto some kinda cloth. its kind of hard to explain.

if I remember correctly the armor pieces are on top of vinyl material. but underneath everything, the body also wears a black cloth jumpsuit.

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

I think they've already confirmed there will be at least one new suit. It's only fitting if there's a new Batmobile that there's also a new suit.

Nope and nope. The only confirmation we have is the only image released of Batman so far (promo art) has him wearing the TDK suit, and that I was told by my tour guide when I was at WB Studios couple weeks back that the tumbler which was on display there was soon to be shipped for filming. Both are flaky pieces of evidence so we in fact have no confirmation of anything so far. :wink1:

Yupp - can't wait for mine to be finished :yess:

Yeah that looks cool!

Well, now that I actually have to dig up the news stories I've got nothing. But I know I read someone connected to the film discussing the new Batsuit. I guess WB hasn't confirmed anything about the Batmobile. I was going by the news that they would be showing off the new car at the Licensing International Expo this month, but the expo came and went and nothing happened.

You can start throwing rotten fruit if you wish. :huh

Much better way of explaining it, I was at a loss for words at the time :rotfl

I dont put my figures in too crazy poses, just natural ones. But the material on him makes the possibility is much better then rubber because he actually holds poses. Unlike my takbats:gah:
