Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

Yeah.. so is it the body underneath or what!?

I don't think so. As it pushes quite a bit back before you hit the body. There's lots of stuffing behind there.

It's like they never placed the right amount of stuffing there and the suit vinyl/mold set into the wrong shape. I had to poke a lot or massage the wool to fill it out.

It's a pain in the backside to be honest.

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

yeah mine is completely gone and is standing upright. I had the crease out of the box but with some futzing it went away.

Can someone explain to me what futzing is?
Other than repainting my DC Direct Joker and Rorschach I have no experience with that kind of customizing...

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

There is a layer of sponge or foam that is under the whole upper suit.
The best reason I can think of for the dent, is when it's pack into the box, the body is bunch up.

But most of you should be able to clear it with some futzing, its not a big problem by any means.

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

Futzing is not any different than getting up in the morning and fixing your suit/shirt/tie into position in a respectable manner. Rather than just throw it on.

It's simply arranging the costume with your hands for a proper look.

I got my TDk medicom a few days ago, I took a picture of it with my other 1/6 TDK for comparison. Left is Hot Toys, middle is Mattel and Right is Medicom:

Damn, one of these has just gone on e-bay.co.uk for £76 inc postage. I've missed out there

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

I have been experimenting with the kevlar mesh work. Going over and over the high resolution shots trying to capture the same look. The subtle details but from a distance it looks a solid colour. Just like in the film.

Sadly the dent came back into the suit since it was boxed up again.

A light grey base coat to smother the horrid toyish look of Medicom's attempt at carbon kevlar? It felt too toy like and that bronze colour was horrid.

Once dried several heavily watered down black coats. That gives a non pristine look but somewhat weathered.

Sadly the camera isn't catching it all that well.

The eyes aren't finished. Experimenting with them trying to build up a realistic look before they are glossed.

I'll need to get somemore flesh paint and some bronze for the belt.

I'm digging the all black suit, but those eyes just aren't natural :horror

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

I don't really like that all black suit

Re: Medicom Dark Knight Batman - Photo Thread

The black has a pretty cool look to it. I also did my repaint recently...

I went with a thin layer of dark aluminum, followed by another thin layer of flat black.
