i find it funny that while everyone says medi dk looks so much better than hot toys dk, people are customizing theirs, making them look more and more like the hot toys

yeah...no

They are making theirs more like Batman from the movie, not hot toys, despite what you want to believe they are doing.

Its just screen accurate touch ups

As nice as the Hot Toys figure is, don't get me wrong it is a fabulous piece. I still feel the colour is too bright on the armour.

The real colour is quite a soft neutral grey a tad lighter than the black. It's definitely not shiny like the Hot Toys colour. It should be a somewhat soft matte shine. A very subtle colour.

Hot Toys always makes me think of aluminium.

The only way it would be made to look more like the Hot Toys is if people weren't 'customizing", just 'very much decreasing the quality of the medicom version'

Not according to everyone else. Just about everyone slated it's poor paint apps and details/cheapness but praised it's shape and body shape/build.

Yeah, I criticised it's cheapness and poor paint apps, because they are exactly that, but, if you ask me, it's still a lot better from the start than the hot toys, taking all things into account. With all the fantastic mods seen on here, the Medi version is on a different level.

It's just so funny to read comments praising this figure as, straight out of the box, being so much better than the Hot Toys version when the initial response to the first in-hand pics was "Medicom has failed again - terrible, woman-like thighs/bad cape/crap paint/etc". Not saying it's better or worse than the HT version - frankly nothing beats the HT original suit from their TDK line as far as I'm concerned - I just find it funny how quickly people will jump on and off the bandwagon.

People are praising the modded figures, not the out of the box ones. Or maybe people here aren't even aware the majority of the pictures here are of the extensively modded figures and then use those to unfairly compare it with the HT version.

This is a MEDICOM photo thread, for pics and discussion about the Medicom figure, not the hot toys, not wether or not its better or worse than the hot toys, this thread has nothing to do with the hot toys figure.

So please, stick to whats at hand, you wanna talk about the HT figure, go use the HT threads, theres plenty.
