I'm curious: How much better would the chin area look with just a simple black wash? Might be an easier alternative for people besides repainting/paying someone to repaint it. Maybe the black wash could dull down the brightness and plastic look some!?

That's what I was wondering. A darker tone skin wash would be just as easy and probably more effective. May look dirty with a black wash, like he has been at the oreos or something.

I wouldnt try Black wash, but rather a dark brown instead.

If HT releases a DX TDK suit and doesn't top this, something is wrong. I would have scouts reading all the positive/negative things customers said about these figures and I would be trying to incorporate the good and improving on the bad.

I been wondering about this. just what exactly does HT need to do to improve on their TDK bat? To me, the biggest flaw of their batman is the bulkyness (which has gather a nick name fatman among some collectors) and HS.

The HS is easily fixable, that's pretty much their specialty, heads. But the hard thing would be the bulky body, would HT really recreate a new suit? or they just gonna throw in more accesories and reuse the body suit from the v1 TDK?

If HT doesn't create a new, slimmer, more form fitting suit then I think the overall look would not be able to top medi's TDK, the accesories will, of course, but if batman himself look like v1, then its kinda wasted effort to bring another batman figure, might as well just make a accesory pack like the tony stark suit instead.

Well whatever materials Medicom used for their suit it worked and worked BETTER because the "armor" pieces and "mesh" look seperate. Even though they're not. That's a flaw with the HT suit: it looks like a single piece. There's no distinction (at least from what I've seen) between the "armor" pieces and the "mesh". What would really be nice is if HT figured out how to incorporate real mesh for the undersuit.

The bulkyness as you mentioned minivader is another problem. You can clearly see when the TDK figure is next to the BB figure they're about the same size. And that's wrong. That was the whole point of TDK when Wayne upgrades his suit: to shed unnecessary weight and to be faster with a smaller, lighter suit. So the 2 figures should not be equal in size just like the real suits aren't equal in size.

If HT just reuses the same figure but throws in some accessories that figure will not sell much. People who already own the v.1 TDK suit will just wait for those new pieces parted out and people like me who passed on that v.1 won't be interested at all.

So HT needs to redo the entire figure from the ground up imo. Accessories, not so much. The belt, grapple gun and cape/poseable Bat-Pod cape is fine. It's mainly the suit/Headsculpt.

Word. Finally decided to sell my modded TDK V1. Got a good price too.

A spare sonar light up head wouldn't go amiss either.

Well if HT uses the same set up like the Iron Man figures it could work: one normal cowl and one with sonar eyes that light up. Only thing is: doesn't that feature restrict the head/neck movement on the IM figures?

Perhaps just a spare sonar head with pearl-type lenses in and no lights. To give the effect.

Not a deal breaker anyway, I just need a slim, movie accurate cowled TDK Batman with the quality of HT.

Well I was thinking: see the Damaged Terminator head in Les' sale photo? What if HT did something like that for the sonar head. I have no idea how that T-800 head lights up.. but I think that would work.
