I hope it' correct. I would not be able to resist n Arc trooper!

Have not gotten any of the clones yet, but an ARC? Oh yes. that would be a MUSt buy.

A collector from China has stated elsewhere that there will be 7 clones coming out in the next year or two, this plain trooper, the 4 different colors of rank, and 2 ARC troopers.

I so hope this doesn't happen though with 3 Clones out already it looks like it's going to.
Medicom are the only company making high end 1/6 SW figures and as I have zero intrest in Clones it means I'll have nothing to buy after Maul & Wicket. It'll free up some cash for other things I suppose but Star Wars is my no 1 franchise and I really hoped to have more than 5 or 6 figures in my collection by now.

Exactly why when people give grief about Sideshow's character selection, it's so stupid because Medicom is just dragging it's feet and at this stage milking the troopers for all their worth. Medicom's only ever going to be a maker of nice Star Wars figures but it'll never be a collection line, just individual, nice pieces, which is a shame. At least by itself if people commit to only owning Medicom or displaying Medicom alone, if you mix them with Sideshow, you can get a nice collection built.

Actually, scale issues apart, I really enjoy having both Sideshow and Medicom producing awesome Star Wars collectibles! Both lines look great for me, and that's all that matters.
It's healthier for collectors to have choices, get their preferred 1/6 Maul, or Jedi Luke, or both if they can afford it!
I mean, there are some Sideshow releases that I don't like, so I just pass on them and buy the ones I want, same with Medicom. Collecting is about having fun, enjoying yourself and not about *****ing and moaning. If it reaches that point, then maybe it's time to find a new hobby!! :emperor

More choice is indeed better and it's true that collecting should be fun but when both companies who are making 1/6 SW figures aren't making anything I want you can see why I'm so pissed.
SSC have made many of the characters I want particularly recently but with the possible exception of ANH Obi-Wan I just don't like the quality and now I've got both Fetts I don't really care about any other armored characters.

Here is a question for you bcm77: what characters do you want?

And who knows, as long as the quality stays at the level of Old ben, you might even change your mind about the rest of em.

we will see how well they keep up this level of comitment over the next few releases, starting with Sidous/Palpatine.

OK here's a list,

PT
AOTC Boba Fett

OT
ANH Han Solo
ANH Luke Skywalker
ANH Princess Leia
Chewbacca
R2-D2 & C3-PO
Greedo
Bossk
IG-88
Dengar
4-LOM
Zuckuss
Emperor Palpatine with throne

I don't want to start an argument but all I'll say about the ones on that list that SSC have already made is that I want those characters on a decent base body with high end quality sculpting, painting and tailoring.

I'll grant you the body statement, without a doubt, the buck sucks.
Leia is not so bad, but Old ben is better.
The other two ANH offerings, ( luke and Han) if they end up looking as good as Old ben, would you possibly reconsider your position? You can allways put them on different bodies. Hot toys for example.
Just my opinion, but I don't think it's fair to completely make up your mind on something like this untill AFTER we see some production shots. the overall quality can change dramaticly in either direction.

Maybe if ANH Luke's headsculpt got a proper paintjob because the proto doesn't really look like Mark Hamill to me. The attire appears to be better than usual though, even the boots look decent so this one's not totally out of the question as a body swap would be easy enough.
Han not so much though, the headsculpt is definitely good but the attire just looks mediocre and as I've yet to see a SSC figure that's drastically improved by the time the production figures are finished I don't see it being improved any.

If Medicom does release all these clones in the next year or two, I hope it's not at the expense of new characters. With the 501st and shocktrooper, the numbers produced were lower, so maybe all these variations will follow that trend and be exclusive to different retailers while they also make something else as a much broader release, like a snowtrooper or scout.

Both Medicom and SS are doing things at an extremly high level as far as sculpts, detail, and tailoring. Really outside of a blips here and there I find it hard to say that they're not doing such.

The only thing that SS is doing at a decent level is head sculpts, the rest is mediocre,They still have no new body, huge hands, and poor tailoring. So to say that there doing things at an extremely high level or to put them up there with Medicom as an equal is ludicris.I like some of SS's product and there getting a little bit better in the 12" arena, but they've got a lot of catching up to do to be considered an euqal to Medicom or HT.

Hopefully something maybe in this weeks newsletter.

I'm wondering if any further announcement will wait until Toyfair. Seems like there is going to be a lot of new info about the Clone Wars series at Toyfair and the AOTC trooper is very Clone Wars related. Hope I'm wrong though.
