What really disappoints me about all the Rey figures I've seen is that they give her these big doe eyes. Daisy's eyes just aren't like that. Doe eyed Rey just looks like Winona Ryder to me.

Repainted Black Series Rey / MAFEX Rey

Wow, you guys are so right. Digital printing! Looks so much like Daisy Ridley!

I do sometimes think they were looking for images of Daisy Ridley and found this girl instead:

Her name is Daisy Waterstone, she has much of the same features as Daisy Ridley, but, look at the doe eyes, all the Rey figures have them, who copied who!?

You know Roger I thought that was maybe a photo of Ridley when she was 10-12 years old :rotfl.
Yeah there is something a little off with both sculpts. I don't think HT got it quite right either. Daisy's face, like Brandon Routh's and Harrison Ford's is just a little hard to capture perfectly. I am not sure why as some of the best people in the business have given it a go. The Mafex Rey is fine to me, butI am concerned she might be a little tall next to the SHF Kylo Ren. We'll seein about a week :wink1:

I'm sure all these big doe eyes you get from Asian manufacturers are a hangover from Manga. No matter what the real actress looks like, you look at the figure, bing, doe eyes!

I received Rey and RotS Vader today, Rey is very delicate, she kept falling apart. Once I was able to get her posed she's stayed together.

It's a shame, the accessories are so cool I might have bought a second for the scavenger look, but not with these problems.

Ah Mafex joints strike again :slap well mine should be tomorrow. I guess I'll see for myself

I've only ever had a problem with my first c3po having a bad joint in his midsection. Rey is the nightmare others have described.

What exactly are the issues because it's hard to find any reviews online

The typical joint issues Mafex has gotten a bad rep for. Literally falling apart, most of the joints, especially the upper biceps and hands.

@ Sachiel: Yes, but, she's either frightened, angry or incredulous in those pics. HT and Mafex give her big eyes with a relatively normal expression.

Still not keen on Rey, but, that Vader still looks good. Still want to see a line up of all of them before I decide. Long wait I know, but, it might be worth it and I could save some money.

That's something that bugs me about collectors sometimes, they absolutely, on pain of death, MUST have a figure, good or bad, even though they know there may be a better one on the way. I'm sure it would make more sense to wait till all the options are out and then decide which the best one is and get that. I never missed out on any that I wanted and mine were the best of any that had been reviewed when all options were out.

@rogerbee Definitely my favorite Vader released so far, we'll see if that changes after RO Vader.

@oh HELL NO! Mafex Fett is a highlight of 1/12 Star Wars!

Yeah, people complain about them being skinny, but, Hayden Christiansen wasn't that well built. When Dave Prowse was in his prime, most of the big guys around were like he was. Basketball wasn't really as big then as it is now so Lucas didn't have much to choose from when he wanted a tall imposing person for Vader. I don't know who was inside Vader for Rogue One, but, I don't recall him being that well built. I do know that a basketball player is now inside Chewie and you get the impression of something under all that fur. A Vader not built like Dave Prowse doesn't really bother me.
