If I was ever gonna join the 501st, I'd go for the Blackhole Stormie...

So the Shadow doesn't come with a long rifle? I don't mind...they barely used guns in the comics...well...technically speaking they didn't until they became shadow stormtroopers...difference is the color of the lenses...I prefer Blackhole stormies...which is what the Medicom one is, but they call it a shadow stormtroopers...it's all very cool, and all very confusing...

I read somewhere that the Shadow Stormtroopers are just remnants of the Blackhole Stormtroopers. So I have always seen the difference as nothing more than artistic interpretation.

You know, there is a lot to like about these figures. The overall look is awesome, and the poseability is awesome.

But there are a few drawbacks as well.

Why did Medicom make pleather body suits? They actuall hinder the articulation AND the movement of the armor when you want to change poses on the figure. Not a huge deal. I will just try to find a cloth (preferably spandex-type) body suit and swap it out. Also, why did they hang the shoulder armor off the collar armor as opposed to attaching it to the shoulder. Also a minor repair, but I am curious, just the same. The blaster is the worst detail as I have mentioned before. Really kind of sad. I think Hasbro's last stormtrooper blaster was better than this one. But "Bob" has the SS blaster, now. So he is cool.

Anyway...

Here is TK020819 "Bob" showing off the latest in Imperial firepower.

And here he is displaying the latest in Imperial Tupperware for the Trooper-on-the-go who just has NO time to cook during those pesky Imperial Military campaigns when all your time is taken up blasting Rebel Scum.

Those pics look great!

I have a question regarding these (and maybe other Medi figs) and this seems like a good place to post it.

I have 4 Medi stromies and on some of them, the ankle joint (the place where the plastic wraps around the metal tube) seems to crack when you pivot the joint. Is this common? Does Medi replace these kinds of defects?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...or just commentary about it.

I think I'm going to buy that weapons set to give my stormies some blaster rifles...that looks kewl as hell.

Interesting that you should post that right here, right now. Right after I composed that last post this morning...I stripped the Shadow Stormtrooper and that exact thing had happened. One of the dislikes I forgot to mention about my Medicom figures is that even though the mannequins are VERY well-articulated...they are also very brittle and break easily. In the future...I will be getting one of each Star Wars figure that Medicom makes to keep in it's package...and I will be waiting for the Sideshow version to open and display. And HOPEFULLY...the new Sideshow ones will have more life-like articulation like the Medicom ones do now.

Edit - If anyone has a link to Medicom's customer service...I would appreciate the posting of said link.

I know! They are EXTREMELY well articulated...one, if not the, best in the business but man are they brittle! I've even had to totally rebuild the shoulder joint on one of my Stormies as it was broke when i got it.

I have several Medi's and other than my Jango and Spawn, I've had to fix parts and pieces right out of the box. It was only when I examined my Stormtroopers that I discovered this issue though.

I read some other posts about the RAH Spiderman figures needing should repair for the same issues.

I don't remember which, but either my Jango or my Boba Fett also had to have the post on the backpack missle glued back onto the missle. No big deal there...you can't even tell after the fix.

I also have problems with the seams splitting at the holes for the wrist posts and ankle posts. But once those are glued back together...they are also un-noticeable.

I still really like the Medicom figures, though.

Mine are still good for the most part but I got one recently and a chunk of the hole is coming off. I glued it back on but I'm pretty sure it will eventually fall off completely if I keep posing it. I can't figure out a fix yet if that happens.

I love the Medis too. I think they are very very good. I don't want to get into a flame war about Medi vs SSC but given the price, quality and bang for your buck (accessories), I think SS edges out over Medi.

Not to mention the issues I'm talking about here. Out of all my SSC (and I only have all the 1/6 scale SW stuff) I have never had to fix one of those crappy Buck bodies...ever. Sure I've had some with loose joints (my Kit Fisto body sucks) and a few really stiff jointed ones, but I have not taken super glue to any of em...that's not to say I haven't done it to some accessories or had to re-order a few:D

Yeah, same here. Each of the companies has it's pros and cons. I like them both enough to buy both, so, other than ribbing the flamers once in a while...I have no SERIOUS complaints about either, and minor ones about both.

Yeah, mine's from the Takara JinRoh, I gave that guy an MG-42, ended up with an extra MG-34 that I gave to the dude above. Been collecting an extra few MG-34s and variants from Yellow Submarine (real nice) and Dragon for a future Marmit Stormtrooper.

OK...After forever, I finally have 2 of the Medicom Stormtroopers. Got them yesterday and am very satisfied with them. I paid about 142.00 shipped for each of them. I am thinking of getting a couple more. But I am going to see if these hold up better to posing than my Shadow Stormtroopers do. If they don't, I will wait for the Sideshow ones. These things do look better in-hand than even the best pics have made them look. And some of those pics have been quite good. I hope to get some pics up eventually. I want to find a few more MG-34s for them, first. I also want some more of the Sideshow Stormtrooper blasters because I think these Medicom ones are even worse than Hasbro's.

Funny, I never had any problems with any of my Medicom figures. I had Stormtrooper, Shadow Stormtrooper, Sandtrooper, Spawn, Jango, 501st Clone Trooper, Spidey blue/red and black, Ghost Rider & X3 Wolverine (only Jango & 501st left now *sniff*) and NEVER had any problems with them.
