That price is as much supply as demand, though. I think there were only 350 or so produced. And only 100 or so of two of the police guys were produced. But yeah, compare that figure to some of the other RAH figures from those days, and it does look pretty good.

Still actually prefer the head on the old figure... looks a bit more like the anime to me.

And, for Medicom figures the original Akira line is the definition of grail. All very rare and rabidly sought after.

I ordered him through AmiAmi... when did they finally get an English site and start shipping Internationally? I've been trying to order from them for years, but they never shipped outside Japan.

I agree. I'll wait for SS to order. You also have to take into consideration Reward Points.

Just noticed Tetsuo is now available for pre-order at Sideshow.

He's going to look great with Kaneda and his bike.

I really want him, so awesome. Just gotta decide if I'll go SSC or look around... I've got a good stash of rewards, so I might just use them all on Tetsuo at Sideshow.

Medicom is really twisting our arms on the pricing of these figures. I'd like to order this from sideshow but just as with the bike and kaneda, this figure will probably be available for considerably less elsewhere. However, Sideshow's customer service is second to none, in case something happens to Tetsuo.

Had a lot more points than I realised at SS... 50 bucks plus shipping for Tetsuo aint too bad.

By ordering Kaneda from Japan, I saved roughly $60. Of course I didn't order Testuo from SSC. In the end, I might have to thank SSC for changing their shipping policy for European collectors. I found cheaper places to order my 12" figures because of it.

Since I just got my Kaneda with bike this week, I'll have to get Tetsuo to complete the set. Just hope Medicom releases more figures and vehicles from the film. I'd really love to have Kei, the Colonel and a Flying Platform with pilot. I just finished volume 5 of the Akira manga and I am really jonesing on Akira right now. Would love to see the manga faithfully adapted into an anime series some day. There is so much to that story that we never saw in the film. The Akira manga has got to be one of the greatest comic books ever. If you have never read it, do so.

I'm waiting till Tetsuo is on sale like Kaneda was at HLJ. Don't want to pay $190 for ANY Medicom figure. We got suckered with Kaneda.

I paid $170 shipped for my Kaneda. I don't expect and will not pay a cent more than that for Tetsuo.
