As for not being officially announced, if memory serves, like Han and Anakin before them, weren't both droids up on Sideshow's site sans pics for preorder?
Don't think so. I've yet to even see a Japanese site officially offer them for preorder, since we don't even have the actual MSRP yet.

And again, just like with Yoda I'm saying that the Medicom figures are superior, but not so superior that they are worth what is likely to be a very inflated price tag. On that I think we agree. I just take issue with you saying that they're actually worse than the Hasbro, which just isn't true IMHO.

When adding quality with price, they are. With Hasbro, you pretty much get what you pay for. I didn't feel ripped off with either droid. With Medicom, save for Ultra Man and Godzilla, I have yet to experience that satisfaction of getting what I paid for. I usually feel ripped off. Again, the only exception being Ultra Man and Godzilla, and those two are admittedly due to childish nostalgia and a disposable income.

Agree with you Nam. Have usually only paid about half retail for most Medicoms and wouldn't consider full price unless in rare circumstances.

I think going with the Hasbro version is definitely a better idea if you are going to chop it up and add articulation. So, you made the right choice.

If you really want a GOOD (in my eyes on of the best yoda sculpts out there & in 1:6) try the Christmas Fabriche yoda. when stripped it easilly has the best Headsculpt, the paint need a lot of work, but the arms have ariculation. Add this to the customing from either medicom or Hasbro, I think you'll have a very good yoda--I'm working on one now.

good idea..care to share some pictures of the strip down version and side comparison next to a 1:6 figure?

Been meaning to get one of those yodas... I think I'm gonna order one on thursday night. I see them at work (amazon) from time to time and they look like they'd be perfect with a little work.

If you want the Faberge Yoda, wait until after Christmas. TRU usually has them clearanced for easy pickings. Right now you'll pay the premium since the holiday's yet to arrive.
