looks really really nice.
However, it's just my opinion, but I think that a High end 1-6th company making an R2 has no excuse to not give him opening panels with his utility tools able to pop out from them.

Exactly. if it's just an astromech, then it's no better nor no worse than the koto statue.

As a 1/6 figure, he needs his accessories. Imagine if Jedi luke did not come with his lightsaber, or han without his gun?

Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing piece, but if it had the panels and tools, I'd get it regardless of scale, AND the threepeo to go with him. As it stands now, I'll just wait.

R2 looks good, probably getting this one. 3PO just isn't accurate.

Hope SSC's wouldn't be far behind.:)

I think the reason 3po is not a chrome finnish is that since Medicom uses soft armor on their figures, it would be difficult to apply such a finnish without it cracking up on you and flaking.

Well, what I should say is that he won't have a normally articulated body with armor on top of it like the troopers. I can't say for sure what material it will be made of, but it seems likely that it will be a hard plastic body custom made for this figure.

Exactly, My money is on him being a "RAH VCD" Like the Alphonse Elric Figure.

I have to figure that Hot Toys will be responsible for making a 3PO figure, with their work on the Iron Man and Endoskeleton figures. . . I just can't see Sideshow pulling it off themselves.
