Oh I do, it looks amazing, I just can't stomach the price. :( I know the medi pair has their flaws, but they would scratch my droid itch just fine (if I can find them for a decent price).

Amiami are selling it a really reasonable price bud???

This is for if its the actual shoulder joint, if its for the bit under the shoulder bell I'm not sure how to get the individual arms apart, knowing medicom they're designed never to come apart without breaking (interestingly, sideshow's stuff always comes apart very easily!)

Take screws out fully and gently pull apart. Not sure if some are glued, or even if mine was, but if it was then it gave up easily the first time!

Be very gentle here as the wires for the lights are soldered on so minutely, a minor tug could break it

It actually looks like a droid inside :lol

Then be careful that the wires don't get trapped as you recombine the torso!

It isn't as fraught as I make it sound, just adding lots of warnings as given how some people handle these things, you'd think they were dealing with a Stretch Armstrong :lol

But have a play around to see what makes it tighter, try a thin layer of gloss varnish, nail polish or even paint. Not too much, and leave it to dry before reassembly!

This is a huge aid to helping me rectify the issue, much appreciated. This step-by-step fix will hopefully solve the issue, it is a little loose under the shoulder bell as well, but like you said it doesn't seem like its a possible fix because there is no way of getting at it.

Thanks again :hi5:

That is a little weird for high-end (i.e. the visible slots cut into the circles on C-3PO's stomach so the sounds are audible.) That's what hasbro did with their talking droids.

Wow, glad i got the non talking version of 3PO those audio holes on the chest look bloody awful.
:horror

I was very close to buying the talking version - I just assumed the two versions were otherwise just the same. So glad I didn't, what a disaster!

Didn't even notice till you guys said anything. Don't really bother me.

It would seriously bug me. These are cell phone pics, but how could you not notice the holes in his chest? I mean the texturing and finish on threepio is almost perfect? (R5 is still my fav though)
:dunno

They don't look out of place to me. Now that I've got these two, just hope SS doesn't release anything too soon :p

Yeah, ruins the look of the figure, IMO, and all for a really cheap gimmick. I doubt most people would cycle through his phrases more than a few times.

Just got these yesterday, missed out on the first version...but oh well, 2nd version has sounds!!!

Here's a quick video showing the various sounds it offers. Sounds plays at random, so it's kinda irritating at times when they keep repeating the same sound.

Was pretty pricey cos I pre-ordered from the wrong local retailer, which get their stock through sideshow. If only I waited longer for amiami.com & not paid the deposit so fast, I could have got it cheaper.

Oh well, still pretty happy with the purchase as I've finally got the droids I'm looking for.

Awesome amiami has em for a a good price was thinking of breaking down and getting them. What do you think of the quality they look great?

Honestly, for the price Amiami is having them for, I think it's a great deal.

Both toys are all plastic, but the paint job is nicely done. Especially C3PO's gold chrome look, there's also very subtle weathering effects on him. R2's paint job is great too & the weathering effects makes his details pop out. Articulation is nothing to write about though, obviously Bandai version is better articulated. Then again, you don't need C3PO to do any dynamic poses.

Sound effects work better for R2D2 though, some sounds for threepio sounds very hollow/muffled. But threepio eyes do blink subtely whenever you play a sound, not sure why they didn't do that for R2.

The thing I hate most bout threepio are his ab wires though, sloppy paint job. But overall these 2 droids are a nice display piece with your Star Wars collection (as long as scale doesnt bother you, I'm fine with it)
