Thanks Cheungkinmen! your referencing how popular my Batman repaints are doing a hint I should have a go at painting up your custom Batman sculpts? hmmm, that would be pretty fun painting all those heads in your banner there! Might have to send you a pm.

Just thought I would same some of the methods/techniques I am using and learned so far:

I am using Vallejo model acrylic resin paints and mixing some airbrush work for the skin using a Iwata Hi Line airbrush (Japanese made airbrush, best you can get in my opinion) designed for painting small areas. As you can see below it has the Micro Air Control Valve which controls how much air pressure comes through when spraying and you can achieve some great small transparent tones using it.

I have not tried doing pastel brushed heads yet but I would like to try that. I have seen some heads painted with oils that look fantastic because you can get a really smooth blend of tone with oils. There is also an oil based Gunze that Mr. Color has I have seen a lot of the Koreans artists paint their head sculpts with that looks fantastic, only buying a whole set of those paints, 10-12 bottles is costly to see if it's any good.

You can get 1/6th decals for the eyes on Ebay and hobby shops, I have not tried this myself but for some of you painting your own heads for fun, this will save you plenty of frustration painting the eyes, plus it helps to be able to position both the eye decals which can take time when painting them instead as you have to repaint to position slightly on occasion.

We will paint some women head sculpts up but they are much rarer than the male heads, I have 2 Trevor Grove Firefly gal heads we'll paint up next month.

Thanks guys. Thought I'd share this. This was in a Hot Toys 10 year retrospective in some Asian mag, this I assume was 8 variations of their Godfather sculpt and different takes on paint apps. It inspired me to try out different skins and facial hair using the same sculpt. I got these heads for $3 each so no problem playing around like this:

Thanks, those were fun to do, maybe we'll do another run on those as I had no idea people were interested in them at all. Maybe we'll do the Christian Bale head in several versions as well.

Just got done with about 36 painted sculpts over the past two months and now doing a mega post with a ton of photos. Most of the heads were done on commission although we did a bunch of Spaghetti western/Civil War styled heads for the hell of it and they will go on Ebay later today.

Here they are starting with the Scott Peterson Clint Eastwood G,B & U head I bought about a year ago (my first custom sculpt I bought) and I was happy to finally paint it, the skin was painted in 8-10 transparent layers and it's a great sculpt!

I got 4 of these old DID heads with big sideburns and did 4 variations adding thick eyebrows and changing up the mustache on all of them:

This one is the Triad Christian Bale Enforcer head (the original head on far right) and is the worst sculpt and paint I've seen, I got a batch of heads for $10 and made some shoddy Civil war beards from photos of that era.

Next up the heads on the right and left ends I got from Red Planet toys (the one on the right is supposed to be Obi Wan and I changed it to a western style villain) I also took the Tom Cruise Hot Toys head and made him a red head with big sideburns and then another truetype head of James Mcavoy and added facial hair and a long scar across his face.

Wow. Amazing stuff. Hope you don't mind but I put that pic of Dillon you did in the thread I started for the Predator rescue team head sculpts from Rocco. Gave you credit and said that you were available for commission work.

Thanks for the posts Cheung, Jim007 and Artoo. Charles, absolutely post the Dillon in the other thread, my photos are awful though. I tried another shot of Dillon below too.

Here are a few new heads and several head photos retaken after matte sealant was applied so they don't look glossy.
