excalibur is like a steven king novel. age 14 or 15 OMG best ever. anyone over the age of 23 should realize its pretty damn horrible.

i just read le morte d'arthur if i need arthurian legend.

Yes, if I was a 14 year old Medieval French kid - Le Morte d'Arthur would be the bees knees.

Once and Future King is a better intro to Arthurian legend and there are a lot of great books on both Merlin and Arthur. The Crystal Cave series is probably among the best as well.

Respect-o-meter has just dropped significantly... I think it best if you pack your things and leave now :tap

Sir Thomas Malory...French? LOL...

Yes.. I said French. Every idea Malory had was ripped from French romance sagas and just transported to Arthur. Although there likely was never a real Arthur, as Dave said, there are much better works than Le Morte d'Arthur

Somebody had to gather the stories together and print it. I like getting my stuff as old and close to the source as possible and Malory is pretty much it. i've not tried the newer material. i own Excalibur and while the immature side of me thinks its good, i still think its just that an immature movie.
