Notice Kirby's infamous 3 Toed Hulk and thing....
Sorry to annoy you guys but what is the current appraisal for this issue? A LCS is selling it for 750 CDN before tax and I'm itching to get it tomorrow. I'm not sure if it's fully mint or real, though. So any help would be nice.
Noooooooooooo!
Do not buy that book for 750 CDN in that condition.
Gotta go now, but check this thread later and I'll give you a break down on why this is a bad deal. Later......

Ive been collecting silver and bronze comics for a long time. Condition is absolutely crucial for price. If you are going to spend $750 I recommend buying CGC. Make sure the book is NOT RESTORED as this will kill the value. CGC will guarantee resto.
These are rough prices for the various grades.
CGC 9.6 =2500 - 2800
CGC 9.4 = 1500-1800
CGC 9.2 = 1000-1200
CGC 9.0 = 800-1000
CGC 8.5 = 600-750
You have a good shot at picking up a 9.0 in the 750 range if you are patient. 9.0 graded copies are very clean looking.
jinxx, I would never buy a high dollar raw book unless if you are an expert grader. When you say, "I'm not sure if it's fully mint or real" then stick to graded books (CGC)
Here's my breakdown of that picture you posted:
1. It's not centered correctly. Notice the spine roll at the top left half.
2. Bottom right corner seems to be frayed.
3. You can see indents and dimple marks to the left of 68 in yellow banner.
4. But the worst thing about this book are the general scuff/grubby marks above and below the Beast's hands on the middle/left side of the page.
5. The colors do seem to be vibrant but it's tough to tell from a picture if there's any fading or bleeding going on.
6. I can tell by the condition of the book that the inside pages are not white. There must be some yellowing going on in there. At a minimum, I don't go below "off white - white pages" for my collection. Most bronze aged books fall in this category. Plain old off white pages is out of the question.
Off hand without seeing it in person your book probably falls in the 6.0 - 7.5 range? Which means anywhere from $200-375 range in US dollars.
I think rabid wolf's prices are in the ball park but a bit on the high side. But he's correct to say deals can be had with a little patience.
~Personally I like to collect Marvel bronze age books in CGC 9.8. Obviously there are some exceptions like Hulk 181 CGC 9.8 (1st appearance of Wolverine) that seem to be going for $18-22k range.
jinxx, here are some links to better gauge what prices this book is going for: (scroll down a bit until you see Giant Size X-men #1)

Thanks a million but...
Actually, that's not the actual comic book but If I do remember correctly, the page's edges were brown. It was inside a plastic case with a silver, round sticker at the bottom. I don't know.....the brown pages irks me now.
Geez, you could have pointed that little fact out in your initial post.
