Heres a little better look at the Figma. Starting to feel better about it.

That head definitely needs a repaint, especially around the eyes. Other than that, it looks like a solid figure (pun definitely intended). Since it's not the "final product", hopefully Figma can make some necessary tweaks to it.

Nope, not a fan of statues, I like to play with my Barbies.

I prefer 1/6 scale t everything, but I can make a pretty badass display with them statues, I might pick up Ray now too.

I quit PAK so I could focus exclusively on 1/6 figures, so the Gecco Big Boss is almost a certain purchase for me. PAKs are also disgustingly expensive where I am, about 60% the price of a newly released Hot Toys figure.

Yeah, I would buy more PAK if they were the same price as even when Snake and Fox were released. Now I have to he soo selective that I may not even get any MGSV ones!

Kojima said more collectibles are gonna be shown. I'm waiting to see if a new MGSV BigBoss is revealed before buying a Gecco

I like PAK, and am fine with $100 Price point for something equal to the Ground zeroes Big boss, huge improvement imo. I think I might skip to PP v1. Big boss, as I saw a pic of the second uniform teased, looks better to me

The funny thing is back then PAKs in my area would cost around the same as how much it'd cost me to buy PAKs online with today's discounted prices. Basically, back when PAKs were "cheaper", there wasn't really much of a difference for me compared to the discounted prices you'd find online nowadays. If anything, it's like I got 30-40% off whenever I imported the older PAKs since the prices around my area tend to be so high. Really with the online discounts on higher prices of today, it's like I'm essentially paying for the same amount that PAKs would have cost me if I bought them locally back in the day.

Actually I should mention that Japan's merchandise prices have risen very recently due to tax/economic reasons (so it's not just PAK). I'll admit I forgot the exact details, but I do remember it getting a lot of coverage on various Japanese-oriented figure sites. So really in terms of price-hikes, I can't completely blame Square Enix for that when literally every other Japanese company I buy from have risen in pricing by 20-40% (give or take depending on the product).

I hated the fact that it's wearing a eye patch, such a cliche...

The eye patch was a cliché since Big Boss was designed with one, that's the point of that motif/homage and it's not exclusive to MGS either.
